Predator

Amsterdam-born DJ Predator, a.k.a. Stephan Scheltema, has been driven by creativity his entire life. Growing up immersed in graffiti art, he soon became fascinated by early Rap music, breakbeats, reggae, and electro. In 1991, he purchased a Commodore Amiga and began creating his own beats and breaks—a passion that led to his first vinyl release in 1992. Over the next several years, Predator dropped more than sixty tracks on notable labels, including Mokum, Ruffneck, Ruff EX, Cenobite, and H2Oh.

A cornerstone artist on Ruffneck Records, he delivered unforgettable hits such as "Mind Of A Lunatic," "The Strongest Gang," "Pump The Vibe," and the iconic "Jiiieehaaaa" under the moniker Diss Reaction. His distinctive sound—a fusion of hardcore, Hip Hop, and Breaks—earned international acclaim and live performances across Canada, the United States, Australia, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and beyond.

By 1998, Predator shifted his attention to drum 'n bass, releasing on labels such as A New Dawn, Acetate Recordings, 5HQ / Formation, and Renegade Hardware. In 2001, he joined the Bassground crew and was voted Best Dutch drum 'n bass producer in 2002. However, his hardcore roots called him back in 2005 when he signed to the Most Wanted DJ Agency and joined Masters of Hardcore.

Throughout his career, Predator has showcased his versatility, weaving Drum 'n Bass elements into Hardcore bangers like "The Switch" (with Angerfist), "Demon Pit," "The Experiment," "Addicted 2 Violence" (with Hellsystem), and "Legend" (with Angerfist). Renowned for anthems like "Get On Down," and revered for keeping the Early Rave spirit alive, he continues to electrify world-class stages—among them Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, Dominator, Defqon.1, Resonate, Pandemonium, Ground Zero, Nature One, Decibel Outdoor, and Syndicate.

He has produced under numerous aliases, including Diss Reaction, Bio-Forge, Cyanide, DNME, Nitrogen, Vanugenth The 5th, Zerox, Bionic Commanders, Dark Syndicate, Nexus, Aux 9, Da Grimreaper, Paradox, Soul Assassin, Virus, and Atomic Jam.
