AIRFORCE Festival wint rechtszaak en gaat dus door
4 augustus 2016
Dinsdag meldden we dat er een rechtszaak was aangespannen tegen de organisatie van AIRFORCE omdat er zeldzame vleermuizen op het terrein waren aangetroffen. Vandaag diende de zaak en AIRFORCE heeft gewonnen: 'Wij waren er altijd al van overtuigd en zojuist heeft de Rechter het bevestigd. Art of Dance en Absolutely Fresh openen zaterdag aanstaande de poorten van Luchtmachtbasis Twenthe voor de eerste editie van AIRFORCE Festival!' 10
Twee natuurorganisaties slepen de organisator van een groot dance-evenement bij Enschede voor de rechter omdat de dreunende beats een aanslag vormen op het leefklimaat van een aantal zeldzame dieren, waaronder de vale vleermuis. Het gaat om de eerste editie van het AIRFORCE Festival, dat komend weekend wordt gehouden op het terrein van de vroegere Vliegbasis Twenthe. Aangezien er intussen al zo'n 10.000 kaarten zijn verkocht, dreigt voor de organisatie een financiële dreun. 29

Het onmogelijke wordt realiteit deze zomer: op 6 augustus combineren Art of Dance en Absolutely Fresh hun expertise voor het nieuwe event AIRFORCE Festival. Dit nieuwe concept zal plaatsvinden op militaire vliegbasis Twenthe in Enschede. Verspreid over zes area's zullen hardcore, raw-hardstyle, freestyle en andere hardcore-subgenres vertegenwoordigd zijn. Hangars, een enorme strip, bunkers, wrede oorlogsgebieden, radartorens en nog veel meer zullen onderdeel zijn van het 'slagveld' tijdens AIRFORCE Festival. 15

Mainstage komt op de landingsbaan, hardstyle naast de radartoren, freestyle in een legertent, frenchcore/terror in een soort schuur en early/millennium in een hangar, evenals de industrial/uptempo. In het filmpje ziet het er best vet uit in elk geval.

Dat is niemand.
Vorig jaar was er in Tingsryd in Zweden al een Airforce Festival. Technisch gezien zijn er dus mensen naartoe geweest en ik heb er veel te veel moeite voor gedaan om dit te achterhalen.

Stichting Lonnekerberg probeert het feest tegen te gaan i.v.m. flora & fauna…. Zeker niets beters te doen ofzo.
