Across the IJ river, at a stone's throw from its historic city center, lies Shelter: an Amsterdam haven for quality dance music.
Built around the idea of creating a home away from home for veteran clubbers and enthusiastic newcomers alike, Shelter Amsterdam provides a diverse clubbing experience in the Dutch capital — with design, experience, and sound quality continually in mind.
Next to its musical cornerstones of distinct House and Techno, Shelter's programming is set on curating sounds from the vanguard of dance music, showcasing electronica from the defining outreaches of the industry.
Shelter is located at a stone's throw from the city center. Overhoeksplein is easily reachable by ferry. Right behind Amsterdam Central Station, you will find ferries frequently leaving to Buiksloterweg.
Once you've crossed the IJ river to Buiksloterweg, take an immediate left and walk towards the high building known as the A'DAM Toren. Make a right turn around the A'DAM Toren after crossing the bridge, and you've reached Overhoeksplein. Shelter's entrance is unmistakable: it's the lifted hatch that sticks out prominently from the square.

• Shelter has a zero tolerance policy to any form of discrimination – including but not limited to xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, colorism, ageism, or any form of hate. Any form of violent behavior, or any form of harassment – including but not limited to sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical harassment. Any activity of this nature will lead to eviction, and a potential ban, from Shelter.
• Shelter holds the right, at all times, to deny entry to anyone, whether in possession of a presale ticket or not. Reasons for denied entry may include – but are not limited to – a visible state of intoxication, a disrespectful and/or violent attitude towards any of our staff, a lack of knowledge regarding the program, attempting entry to the club in a large group, formal or inappropriate or offensive attire. Guests dressed in – for instance, but not limited to – suits, dress shirts, football shirts or any kind of offensive apparel can be denied entry.
• Shelter enforces a no phone policy. This means that we do not tolerate the use of mobile phones on our dance floors or any photography or videography within our venue. Mobile phone usage is permitted in the smoking area and the lounging areas. Visitors who are caught using their phones in non-designated areas can be requested to exit the premises immediately by a member of the security team or club staff. The no phone policy does not apply to Shelter staff, promoters and hired photographers/videographers.
