The Housemusic adventure of dj Baba ( Martijn van Langen ) started with listening to dj Dano's show the Grooveyard at Radio 100. The radioshow where you could win tickets for Multigroove and you could hear the latest tunes.
Martijn got infected by the dj virus at a birthday party, because there was no dj to play the music, he grabbed some cd's and experienced the joy and satisfaction to play music for other people.
The friends at this party encouraged him to do this more often and Martijn started to buy records and practice the art of vinyl mixing.

Dj Baba can hit the decks with cd's, usbstick or Traktor but he prefers toplay his music in a freestyle mix with oldschool, rave, early hardstyle and hardcore classics on vinyl records with 2 or 3 turntables.
He will play techno, minimal or trance classics on special request or occasion.

Martijn learned the basic skills like promoting and networking in order to create an event from Spider Willem and started his own events in local clubs so he could play his music in front of an audience.
Spider gave Martijn his own birthday celebration room at a Mushroom event in the Hemkade48, this was the first time for dj Baba to play at a large event.
After the Birthday celebration, Spider let him play at several of his events.

Together with friends, Martijn started to give his own events at the Graansilo, Catacomb Studio's and Repetiehuis by the name: Druids of Sound.
Agon Mank is one of his best friends who always helped Martijn with his events and he created many flyers for several concepts.

The notorious dj duo Micha B & Baba started freestyle mixing with the hardest sounds of house at the end of 1998.
HardTime was their first concept in Amsterdam at the Club 114 and Trance Nation the future sound of trance was their following concept that launched them off to giving raves at the Hemkade48 untill 3500 people.
Their radioshow Dance2Day at Salto was a big hit and they played all around the Netherlands at events such as Dance Valley 2000 and 2001.
Multigroove and the famous Trance Buddha in Amsterdam where their regular gigs.

Buzz fuzz and Champ E On asked Martijn to join the T-Time Crew in Zaandam, off course he joined them and every sunday there where afterparty's with lot's of artists from harder scene.
The famous Blue Drink is still a knock out history for many T-Time fans and guests.

The youth in Amstelveen could play with their favorite dj's in Downtown and P60.
Every month there was a meeting with the local youth to ask with who they wanted to play with, Erwin Grose of Downtown and Martijn made this happen with a monthly Harddrive event.
Platinum was their concept in P60 to stimulate new talents on a bigger platform.
Maikel Dolle was the extra power for Platinum, he made flyers and with housenation.nl he took the concept to a higher level..
After Platinum there were more House Nation events at different locations.

Music and Dance was a concept created with Lidy Swart to promote the talents who did not had the opportunity to play in a club.
It was to promote the unknown dj together with an experienced artist, in that way the experienced artist could show the talents skills and tricks.
There where hundreds of demo's from all around the Netherlands to our mailbox and Lidy was always listening to the new mixes.
We had M.A.D. events at the Gigi's, Akhnaton and the Repetitiehuis.

Martijn started as a teacher at the Jordens DJ School and also became a member of the Point [ 44 ] team, the hardcore label from his good friend William Jordens.

Martijn worked for clubs like Latido and Club Zyon, he gave several events like 1000% Hardcore and Pumping Amsterdam.
Party Centrum Osdorp was the point to a new project called Oldschool House Classics, 12 Hours of Vinyl Oldstyle.

Multigroove is always a big influence for Martijn, this is the organisation who always supported him as a dj.
He got involved at the time Multigroove was giving events at the Roothaanhuis and ever since he played at events like No Bullshit, Hellbound, the Delicate Sound of Thunder, Haunted House, Toxic City and Ground Zero.

Martijn is now promoting his passion for House and Electronic Dance Music with dj sets, his events and dj lessons.
