Biografie
Some may know John O'Callaghan as a Dance music icon, some may know him by his initials "JOC" and then there are others who only know his music. It's obvious even to a newcomer or neophyte enthusiast that John O'Callaghan's talents far exceed that of just an uplifting producer or Trance remix master. He is an artist, producer, DJ and an internationally respected name in the world of Electronic music. John O'Callaghan has long pushed the boundaries of musical genres in ways that have earned him a stellar reputation across the dance music industry. From the dreamy progressive vibes of the 'Deep Dream' mixes to the edgy techno grooves of his 'Joint Operations Centre' productions. John O'Callaghan always showcases true diversity in his sound, and has emerged as a leader of the trance movement – a path which all of his fans have loyally followed. With every production he once again proves himself to be one of the most consistent and yet surprising artists, with an uncompromising ability to reinvent and rework any track that catches his eye (and ears).
In the past few years he has encapsulated the true artistry of uplifting melodic trance music resulting in smash hit remixes on the crème de la crème of the finest Electronic music labels around such as: Armada, Black Hole, Vandit, Garuda and of course his heavy hitting originals on his very own revered Subculture record label. John O'Callaghan has long been responsible for taking vocal records and transforming them into extraordinary Trance Classics. This was evident when his remix of Gareth Emery's 'Concrete Angel' hit Number One in the download charts, and the original was voted 'tune of the year' by millions of fans on Armin Van Buuren's 'A State Of Trance' radio show. Add to that JOC's timeless remix of 'the Doppler Effect', a remix which was highly acclaimed for it's creativity.
As an artist that is responsible for creating some of the defining sounds and biggest vocal tracks of recent times, John O'Callaghan has also retained unprecedented levels of credibility within the underground scene. With three studio albums and a discography littered with some of the most iconic Trance records of the recent era, such as: 'Big Sky', 'Find Yourself', 'One Special Particle; and 'Exactly' continuing to ignite dance-floors worldwide. John O'Callaghan's rapid ascent into a Trance legacy shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
It's not only in the studio in which John O'Callaghan has had a monumental impact. As a DJ his world renowned productions have had him travelling the world at a frantic pace. Over the last year he has found himself playing for the biggest festivals and brands in the world such as: Ultra Music Festival (Miami & Worldwide), Cream (Ibiza + Worldwide), A State Of Trance (Worldwide), Stereosonic 🇦🇺, Godskitchen 🇬🇧 and many more. Add to that a BBC Radio 1 essential mix, multiple iconic mix compilations and regular sold out Subculture events & it's plain to see that John O'Callaghan's sound is more in-demand today that it ever has been. Subculture
Subculture is defined as a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture. This definition is still as relevant now as it has ever been to John O'Callaghan's respected Subculture imprint.
Originally starting out as a record label that's known for its consistency and its solid, quality releases. Subculture has quickly developed into much more than just another record label. It has long been responsible for launching and developing the careers of the brightest talents that the Electronic music world has to offer. Today Subculture has matured into a forward thinking concept that now embodies a successful Radio Show, multiple Compilation Albums and sought after Merchandise. Not forgetting the Events that have touched all four corners of the globe including sold out tours in Argentina, Australia, Holland, United Kingdom and the USA to name just a few.
The Subculture brand continues to inspire, impress and will always remain true to the original principles on which it was founded. Subculture can be encapsulated by these three little words: The Good stuff.
The question is: will you be a part of it?
