Marlies Woudenberg, born in Edam-Volendam near Amsterdam, stepped into the world of electronic music at an early age. At just fifteen she bought her first turntables, stacks of vinyl, and began spinning the harder styles of house and hardstyle under the name DJ Marlice.
Her talent didn't stay unnoticed for long. Within months she was invited to become a weekly resident in a Utrecht club, followed by bookings across the Netherlands. Before she even turned sixteen, she had already performed twice at the legendary Hemkade 48 in Zaandam, playing for crowds of 1,000 to 4,000 people — legally too young to enter the venue, but more than ready for the stage.
From there her career accelerated. Marlies performed at major Dutch festivals such as Ground Zero Festival (2008), Decibel Outdoor, and Q-Base, unleashing high-energy sets for tens of thousands of visitors.
Her international footprint grew just as fast. She appeared at the Streetparade in Zürich, and performed in several clubs in Spain, Crete, France, Belgium, Germany, Bali, and completed a six-week tour through Australia in 2010.
Alongside her harder sounds, Marlies developed a second artistic identity: Marlicious — her club, house, techouse and eclectic persona. Under this name she played standout events such as Ex Porn Star, NopeIsDope, Fantasy Island, Crazyland, Happy Dayzz, Escape Amsterdam, and more.
Today, Marlies combines her music career with her work as a horeca entrepreneur, building and running high-end, innovative concepts in the Amsterdam and Amersfoort area. She is also expanding her craft behind the scenes, studying audio engineering and music production at the Media Park in Hilversum and SAE
