Marlies Woudenberg, born in Edam-Volendam near Amsterdam, stepped into the world of electronic music at an early age. At just fifteen, she bought her first turntables, built up stacks of vinyl, and began spinning the harder styles of house and hardstyle under the name DJ Marlice.

Her talent did not go unnoticed for long. Within months, she was invited to become a weekly resident at a club in Utrecht, followed by bookings across the Netherlands. Before even turning sixteen, she had already performed twice at the legendary Hemkade 48 in Zaandam, playing for crowds of 1,000 to 4,000 people — technically too young to enter the venue, but already more than ready for the stage.
From there, her career quickly accelerated. Marlies performed at major Dutch festivals such as Ground Zero Festival, Decibel Outdoor, and Q-Base, delivering high-energy sets to tens of thousands of visitors.
Her international footprint grew just as fast. She appeared at the Street Parade in Zürich and performed in clubs across Spain, Crete, France, Belgium, Germany, and Bali. In 2010, she completed a six-week tour through Australia, further establishing her name beyond the Dutch scene.

Alongside her harder sound, Marlies developed a second artistic identity: Marlicious — her club, house, tech-house, and eclectic persona. Under this name, she played standout events and venues including Ex Porn Star, NopeIsDope, Fantasy Island, Crazyland, Happy Dayzz, Escape Amsterdam, and more.
She also created DJ mixes under the name Doyenne, reflecting a broader musical taste and a deeper interest in selection, atmosphere, and storytelling through sound.

Today, Marlies combines her music background with her work as a hospitality entrepreneur, building and running high-end, forward-thinking concepts in Amsterdam and Amersfoort. At the same time, she continues to expand her craft behind the scenes, studying audio engineering and music production at the Media Park in Hilversum and SAE.
