Cromanty Sound

Cromanty came into existence in the summer of 2006 in Westouter (West Flanders) and was founded by the soundboys Mista Jones, Fat Kat and Tyree. From the very beginning they started with their own concept "Sum Summa", that in the meantime is known and famous in the whole of Belgium. It's a respected happening in the Belgian reggae-dancehall scene. Cromanty shared the stage with giants as Coco Tea, Frankie Paul, Wayne Sleng Teng Smith, David Rodigan, Massive B, Mighty Crown, Black Chiney, Warrior Sound, Herb A Lize It, Civilized, Turn Table Dubbers, Runn Sound, TLP and many, many others. Cromanty also had gigs with almost every Belgian sound… !

Cromanty was present in many venues, clubs, events and festivals, national as well as international. To name a few: Vooruit Ghent, Petrol Antwerp, Kavka Antwerp, The Rumba Leuven, the Machine Leuven, The Zoo Hasselt. Reflex Kortrijk, Qubus Oudenaarde, Zappa Antwerp, Fenix Ypres, Tijuana Ghent, Rector Ghent, Utendoale Westouter, Club Nice Ostend, Kouter Poperinge, and so on… Festivals where they set the house on fire are: Reggae Geel (twice), Dranouter, Afro Latino Festival(twice), SummerSet Festival, Bal-A-Deuse Festival, Reggae-Box, X-Beach Festival,Gracias A La Vida festival, Paulusfeesten Ostend, … Cromanty played in Leiden (The Netherlands) twice by invitation of their good friends Keytown Sound. They were once jetted off to Geneva to play with Uruhu Sound (famous for the legendary "More Fire"-parties).

In March 2012 Cromanty won "Present Your Sound", a battle (clash) with seven sounds.

In November 2014 Cromanty organised 'Sum Summa – The I-Town Edition" in "Het Perron" in Ypres with top of the bill the one and only reggae ambassador: Sir David Rodigan !
