FIRST_LIVE 3RD EDITION Summer BBQ


Last May saw the birth of a new concept in the Bootleg DJ Cafe, the well
known meeting place for Rotterdam based electronic musicians and like minded
souls. During FIRST_LIVE over twohundred people witnessed seven different
live acts taking over the cozy bar by storm. Instead of playing records
which are made by others, this night revolves around music made by the
artists themselves; straight from their laptops to the dancefloor. This night
offers a great sneak preview of what is happening behind their bedrooms walls,
and more specifically, what Rotterdam bred music is. Genres or styles are not
important, as long as the music is all live and straight from the soul.

This month, after two succesful editions we present a summer BBQ edition

This month brings a sunny summer theme. The night kicks off with a delicious
BBQ right on the terrace of Bootleg DJ Cafe and De Unie.
During this time (1700-2100) there will be open decks to anyone willing and able to
share their downtempo musical escapades. There will also be a pilot edition of ´R.O.C.K.´
which stands for ´Rotterdamsch Organisatorisch Conglomeraat voor Knalmuziek´.
A meeting designed for all artists and organisations active in the underground dance scene,
in order to stimulate cooperations and discuss issues important for those who are active in the scene.
There will be an open discussion where everyone is invited to give their input and a panel with industry
professionals will talk about some common issues the scene has to deal with nowadays.

After this culinary and musical evening the night will be filled by no less than
seven live acts. From 2100 hours till 0600 they will be showing off their finest productions.
