Jakuza: "djáh-koo-zah":
1. A bastardization of the Japanese term for the Mafia. Originally the term hails from medieval Japan, where it was used to indicate any person fallen from grace. Now it is the name of the "Yakuza", an underground network equivalent, if not more powerfull, in power to the Italian Mafia. Mainly operating behind the screens, it does not profile itself as openly as for instance the aforementioned Italian Mafia. Although it does not show itself to the light of day much, its methods are highly effective and control is maintained at the highest levels. When however the Yakuza does decide to act in the open, the consequences are often very bloody and involve a high number of casualties.
2. Working name (all creative areas: dj/vj/producer/dezigner) of said person. Choice of this name was quite obvious as his choice of vinyl and plates (DnB/Jungle/Hardcore Jungle/Breakcore/Detroit Techno) has an underground sinister feel to it, combined with a highly controlled style of mixing that succeeds in retaining control at all times but at the same time lashes out quite frequently in disturbingly destructive ways.
