Stug viert zijn vierjarig bestaan

Na een korte sabbatical van een half jaar is Stug terug van nooit weggeweest, met vanaf 1 april een aantal opwindende feesten in verschillende grote steden. Dankzij vers getankte inspiratie en energie gaat Stug de komende maanden daarom heftiger los dan ooit, waarbij het brede muzikale spectrum ook nu weer alles tussen house en techno omvat. 3
Danny Howells presenteert nieuwe album in Studio 80

Na een geweldige set van Danny Howells op 3 Oktober 2010 voor Floorplay @ Studio 80, is hij terug. Precies zes maanden later zal Studio 80 weer de locatie zijn voor een feest dat onderdeel is van de officiële release tour van zijn nieuwe album Phase One op zijn eigen Dig Deeper label.

Following Danny’s debut gig for Floorplay in October 2010, it's time to see the UK DJ back in Amsterdam. Once again, Studio 80 is the venue for this event which will see Danny not only perform a special set but also mark the date for release of a new album. The night is the official launch of the new series for the UK jock's Dig Deeper label entitled Phase One. It is a mix album which has been compiled with the love and care you would expect from Danny, and comes in two parts: an 18-track mix, and a collection of 25 individual songs.

The plaudits and superlatives to describe Danny Howells are endless. “The clubbers DJ", “The DJs DJ”; in fact seemingly “everbody who is into quality dance music’s DJ”. Danny really is the epitomy of proper dance music: futeristic disco funk house played with penache, delivered with that smile. A thirst for new music matched by the stamina to present it with energy and cohesion every single weekend is one of the reasons why Danny is consistently booked to play his "deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse" sound in the absolute cream of the world’s clubs.
A true industry pro, from DJing at Bedrock nights in his home town of Hastings for John Digweed through to the marathon 12 hour sets in New York, Canada and LA, albums for Global Underground, Renaissance and his own Nocturnal Frequencies, numerous high rankings over the years in DJ Mag's top 100 poll, slamming productions with Dick Trevor, his own Dig Deeper label delivering the new talent and of course regular Dig Deeper nights in some of the finest clubs in the world, Danny remains on top of his game in 2011.
Today Danny is equally at home in the studio after turning a wealth of quality tracks released on his Dig Deeper label over the last couple of years, and the time is right for the long player. Danny says of the LP: "This is the first time I've ever had the chance to sign new music, and be able to combine it with my own productions,". "So many artists that I really admire and look up to sent me music for the label which was kind of gob-smacking! I'm so happy with the end result and feel that the mix and individual tracks really display the diverse range of musical styles that I want Dig Deeper to represent."
We are delighted that Danny will perform a special set at Studio 80, Rembrandtsplein, Amsterdam on 3 April to mark the release of the album. The event starts at 6pm, with DJ support from Floorplay resident Paul Sparkes and Stug founder and resident Bart van Rijn. This is a splendid opportunity to see Danny in action in an intimate venue, on one of the best sound systems in the country. Expect Danny to take to the decks early evening for a very special ride for Floorplay and STUG invite DANNY HOWELLS, the offical launch of DIG DEEPER : PHASE ONE.
The second room sees a top local line-up featuring some of Amsterdam's finest and hardest working people in the scene. The cities top record store and event organisor InDeep'n'Dance is set to bring a slew of DJs to offer their alternative to the main room action. DJs already confirmed are Dexon, Dauphin vs True Identity, Elle vs Miss Madesco = EM2, "Deksels" (Jerry T. & Ruther Maree) & Tom Verstappen.
