Biografie
·Michael Ekow's diverse sound is a result of his diverse upbringing. He was born in Cologne, Germany but did not stay there for a long time. At a young age, he moved to London, England and then Watford. He used to imitate pop stars such as Michael Jackson whenever he saw them on the television as a young child and sought to be like them. Ekow would soak in the records played at home, Ijhaman, Jacob Miller, Kool & the Gang, UB40, etc, and cover them in his spare time.
Between projects, Michael Ekow likes to take a break from recording to focus on what's going around him and express his views through his music
His music deals with his experience as a 1st generation migrant in Europe, the struggles of indigence, the battle of practicing his faith in a secular environment, quest of identity, truth and inner peace. The war of ego and love, impulse and rationality, ignorance and wisdom.
