Hardstyle since Hardstyle....

In the beginning of 2001 Q-dance discovered something new, something fresh and something hard....a new sound was born. Hardstyle started of as a mix of Oldstyle and UK sounds. Slowly productions from Germany and Italy, which had a stronger bassline and a harder kick, started to reach the Dutch dancefloors. The reaction from the crowd in Holland was massive....Hardstyle was here to stay!
During two years the sound developed gradualy, more influences from styles like Trance, Techno and Hardcore made Hardstyle more divers. DJ's and producers from all over Europe started producing this hard-bass style of music.
Labels were founded, stars were born. Names like; Dana, Pavo, Kai Tracid, Technoboy, DJ Zenith and Warmduscher were responsible for spreading the Hardstyle virus around the world. After a year you could clearly hear a split between the productions from Germany and the ones from Italy. Where the Germans kept the sound more Trancy, the Italians stayed on the harder side. Also the Dutch producers succeeded in bringing strong, high quality tracks to the market.
Events like Qlubtempo (the first Hardstyle event in Holland), Qlimax ('THE NUMBER 1 HARDSTYLE EVENT') and X-Qlusive created a bigger and bigger crowd with true Hardstyle fans.
Now, in the year 2008, Hardstyle is leading the Dutch dancefloors.
