Als doekje voor het bloeden de compilatie van het afgelaste Decibel Outdoor 2021. Ditmaal gemixt door Ran-D, Mad Dog, een Pussy Lounge cd en The Sound of Decibel. Kortom van alles wat dus.
Tja het blijft een beetje vreemd om een CD te beluisteren van een festival wat is afgelast. Maar goed B2S en Be Yourself hebben de handen ineen geslagen om de fans van het al jaren lang bestaande concept 'Decibel Outdoor' een hart onder de riem te steken. Dit om het spreekwoordelijke 'Decibel' gevoel naar de huis kamer te brengen. De compilatie bevat dit jaar maar liefst vier cd's; een mix verzorgd door respectievelijk Ran-D en Mad Dog, maar ook een 'Pussy Lounge en 'The Sound of Decibel' schijfje. Kort door de bocht, voor een ieder wat wils.
Te vroeg of ruim aan de late kant
De filosofie in de persinformatie is natuurlijk wel een leuke: 'Waar alle stijlen op Decibel Outdoor samenkomen, is dat voor het album niet anders. Divers en voor ieder wat wils, net als het festival zelf.' Waar menig liefhebber liever op het festival zelf staat te springen en de compilatie luistert om na te genieten, moeten we het dus nu alleen doen met de compilatie. Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken, zeker als de eerste twee schijven van Ran-D en Mad Dog zijn. Nieuw materiaal van de heren zelf sieren de tracklist, alsook van con-collega's Wildstylez, D-Sturb, Gunz for Hire, D-Block & S-te-Fan, Sefa, Dither en AniMe. De derde en vierde cd geven een muzikaal palet weer, waar je veel stijlen tegen gaat komen. Met name het Pussy Lounge concept is natuurlijk bekend om het verweven van diverse stijlen. De laatste cd 'Sound of Decibel' voelt een beetje alsof er minder aandacht aan is besteed, maar is desalniettemin leuk voor erbij.
Conclusie
We zullen nog veel last hebben van de 'effecten' van de Coronapandemie, maar laten we hopen dat we volgende jaar weer kunnen genieten in een stralend zonnetje op Decibel Outdoor 2022. Tot die tijd hebben deze compilatie voor wat muzikaal genot.

Top cd. Vooral de mix van Mad Dog is echt het puntje van de zalm
Ah, wat jammer van Decibel Outdoor! Het is inderdaad een beetje surreëel om de CD te luisteren zonder het festival. Klinkt als een goede poging om de sfeer te brengen. De mix van Ran-D en Mad Dog klinkt erg goed. Misschien niet helemaal hetzelfde als de echte ervaring, maar beter dan niets! Als je trouwens nog een manier zoekt om de tijd te doden, mijn neefje zat laatst helemaal in de ban van Slope Game; blijkbaar heel verslavend! Hopelijk volgend jaar wel weer Decibel in de zon!
