We are proud to announce a UK Debut of Speedy J’s alter alias Public Energy !!
Jochem Paap also known as Speedy J has been at the forefront of electronic music since he landed his first record back in 1990.
Since the early nineties, Speedy J released on labels like Plus 8, Warp and Novamute. But while techno develops into a dominating force on many dance floors worldwide, Jochem Paap, after the albums G Spot (1993) and Ginger (1995), turns left and heads for other exciting places.
The alias Public Energy which has been on fans lips for years is a show of his harder, darker , stomping side of the techno Genre. This has been shown in 1994 with his track Slumber, and he debuted this alias at Amsterdam’s Unpolished festival in 2020. This set has been described as ruthless, “techno how it should be” “the best set ever”

Another show of the Public Energy alias was on his renowned online stream during covid “STOOR” this showcased a huge array of artists and their talents from Jochem’s studio in Rotterdam. Most famously was the 3hr set with Noneoftheabove and Public Energy this was not for the faint hearted as both artist used Synths, modulars and the famous Roland TR-909 Drum, to keep the viewers on there toes with ground breaking beats ranging from hard techno to gabber.
