MIND AGAINST (Life and Death, IT)
Etching a musical partnership that draws from the combined roots of IDM, house and techno, Mind Against are the Italian native but Berlin based project of Alessandro and Federico Fognini. The biggest cliché of a “sound that’s hard to pin down”, is realer than gravity when it comes to Mind Against. They coax on psychedelic hooks of the 1980s and dance floor anthems bound traditionally to european soil. This backdrop makes for releases and performances that do well against any canvas.
KONSTANTIN (Giegling, DE)
Giegling was born out of a mutual passion of music from a collective of friends and producers who originally set out to arrange parties in an abandoned building in Weimar, Germany. Following the demolition of the venue in 2008, the collective of friends continued to make use of the Giegling brand they had formed and opened up their own vinyl only label focusing on the deeper realms of house and techno. Headed up by Konstantin, Giegling have released records from the likes of Edward, Ateq, Vril and Prince of Denmark.
KENNY GLASGOW (No. 19, CA)
After spending six years in the duo Art Department with fellow Torontonian Jonny White, the pair announced last year that Glasgow will be striking it solo under his given name again. Like the entirety of Kenny Glasgow’s career, this next solo chapter is to take him to the finest clubs and festivals around the world armed with a knowing and considered bag of music that will be put together in the sort of compelling ways only an artist of his standing can.
