Live acts in de vooravonden in Sugarfactory tijdens ADE
16 september 2015
This year, Sugarfactory presents a special ADE evening, showcasing four unique groups of Dutch artists operating on the edge of theatre and electronic music.
A showcase of four experimental, Dutch theatre acts for an international and local audience. Although very different in style and themes, the four acts have in common that they try to make a bridge between club culture and theatre.
Performances showcased
Studio Nepco / Artificial Happiness
KOBE
Lena Glücksman Nilsson
G∆rtm∆len
Idiosyncratic and peculiar tunes before and after the show by Inphiknight aka Thomas Meijer
Tickets: € 7,50

Studio Nepco / Artificial Happiness is an internationally operating, Amsterdam-based performance art collective specialised in fantastic costumes. They describe themselves as a cloud in which music and visual distortion embrace each other. Driven by intuition they take the spectator to a parallel universe of dark lightness, vague lovers and magical sounds.

KOBE Collective from Rotterdam is a performance art group both at home at a dance festival like Mysteryland, and at theatre festivals like the Operadagen Rotterdam or de Parade. Not surprisingly, in their work they attempt to bridge the gap between the art world and club culture.
Lena Glücksman Nilsson from Sweden / Amsterdam is a visual performance artist who uses movements and music to create “uncanny but sensual choreographies”. For her piece “Domestic objects no. 1” she collaborates with artists from Project Wildeman, a theatre company known for their experimental pieces combining electronic music and visual art, featured on festivals such as Oerol and Over ’t IJ.
G∆RTM∆LEN from The Hague is the musical act of the night. Relatively unknown, this avant-garde duo has been performing in small underground venues and festivals throughout the country. Using only synthesizers and a vocal effects panel and wearing eleborate costumes and masks, their live shows are both alienating and highly entertaining at the same time.
