KUBUS [Top Notch, Pokka, NL]
Since 2004 Kubus is one of the purveyors of Dutch Hiphop and is the man behind some of the most upfront and extraordinary hiphop productions to appear during the last decade in the Netherlands. With his inventive one-leg-in-the-Techno beats, he produced for productions Opgezwolle, Jawat!, Rico, Sticks, DuvelDuvel and BangBang next to his solo releases to name a few. Unlike other hiphop producers, Kubus’ roots go back to the early rave days, where raw analogue beats and brutal electronics melted together into something unheard before. At Lowlands and in Paradiso the entire audience went wild during the legendary Buitenwesten tour. The album Kick Snare Snicker is Kubus 2.0. - his first real solo album off the rails, pushing the boundaries and continuing to fascinate. Kubus may very well be the pioneer of the raw trend in contemporary hip-hop with his lo-fi production techniques and analog equipment.

With roots in the underground tekno/acid scene, his style evolved over the years towards the bassminded styles like dubstep, UK funky, abstract hiphop and booty. His DJ sets are full of energy, raw, with the right timing and ahead of the hype. As co-founder of Dstruct Collective, Lowriders Collective and Lowriders Recordings he has a reputation as the guy with a nose for talent. Lowriders is the conjugation of a group bass lovers. Korrupt aka Olaf de Rooij is a Rotterdam-based musician who made his name as a DJ, producer, sound engineer and is FKOF's A&R managers: responsible for finding the freshest and most exciting producers in bass music. He also hosts the monthly "FKOF Sessions" on Chew TV and Focus.FM and can be found playing the finest (minimal) bass music in dances around Europe always showcasing the finest and freshest repertoire of sounds. FKOF he co-runs is one of the UK's leading digital culture publications, providing original and award-winning content. FKOF is also a chart-topping record label, a ~20,000-strong community on SoundCloud and one of the most vocal supporters of 140 bass music.
