Back to school with BEYOND's new edition in Fuse! Let's celebrate it with a special line up. We're happy to present the all star live band MAGIC MOUNTAIN HIGH. This formation of David Moufang aka MOVE Dwith Gal Aner and Jordan Czamanski aka JUJU & JORDASH was born out of a statement; 3 analog gear lovers gathering to fight against boredom and phony pre-programmed sets in club music by using a live improvised approach.
In a age where technology creates serious doubt over how much work is done by the machine and how much by the artist itself, the MMH mission statement is a fearless refusal to prepare anything before they hit the stage. By stripping down preparation to the bare necessities and essentials, you'll never hear the same show twice. With an ever-changing collection of drum machines, synths and effects units, you can only expect the unexpected, providing an « instant honest rave » to quote Mr Moufang.
No need to introduce these 3 active guys (who are already familiar with Fuse's dance floor), the name MOVE D has been associated with many things in the past, from early techno to ambient soundscapes, and now settled into an organic flavor of timeless house music. JUJU & JORDASH meanwhile is a byword for a far-flung realm of what house music might be as a direct extension of jazz. Occasionally shocking, often unsettling, but always fascinating, there sound is often a dense and complex beast, a far cry from the instantaneous happenings in MAGIC MOUNTAIN HIGH.
To counterbalance this jamming and improvised jazz-acid-hazy-leftfield-house-nebula (pffiou) we decided to invite someone we can trust. Someone able to take over a dance floor in a classy way in every situation. Someone with incredible skills, genuine human qualities and a breathtaking record collection. Someone enlightened by her generosity and her humility with a broad musical approach. That is Panorama Bar / Berghain Queen, TAMA SUMO.

Kerstin Egert started out deejaying in 1993 at the Drama bar, a legendary pre-party spot in Kreutzberg. While techno music was dominating Berlin there where only a few locations playing house music. Drama was one of them, here Kerstin used to play a lot of New York style vocal house and quickly became a regular DJ behind the decks at the gay saturdays at Café Moskau.
In the beginning of 1994 she started a new residency at the legendary techno club Tresor and continued this for the next years. At this institute she began to integrate different electronic-music-genres into her sets, a mixture, she constantly improved over the years and which by now has become so significant for her long sets.
Since 2001 TAMA SUMO also played regularly at the „Dance With The Aliens“-Party at the old OstGut, the predecessor of Berghain, which eventually opened the door to a residency at the new Panoramabar & Berghain. In the meantime she developed a varied style ranging from House in all its colors, combined with reduced techno, old electro, disco and pop. Altogether her sets feature a lot of bass, sometimes melody, always deep, sexy, dirty, jacking, rough and funky.
« To be a DJ for me means to be in touch with the audience without speaking and to interact with the crowd and give them what they need while staying true to myself at the same time. It’s also fundamental to my work that I succeed at letting the music, the crowd and myself run freely. I have to turn off my head and go with the flow. I love to create and play with different moods and atmospheres. And I’m still fascinated by the fact that music can release a huge amount of energy and fun immediately. Music and bass in particular make people happy! »
