SADAR BAHAR
Sadar Bahar, part of the 'Soul in the Hole' collective, comes from the Chicago school of disco and house. With love for the traditional vinyl format and as a dedicated record collector, he stands for that soul infused, sexy sound. The notable dedication to his craft, his fine selections and his pure style garnered credit from people all over the world and his DJ peers.
Although house music provides the backbone to his sets, you’re unlikely to hear popular, track-laden songs or programmed disco – Sadar favours live instrumentation and soulful vocals. As Sadar himself explains:, “I’m always looking for something deeper that no one else is playing - I have about 14,000 records in all… I probably have one of the largest Fela collections on wax, too”.
Responsible for edits under the alias Chicken Wings and various mix tapes that are celebrated amongst aficionados, Sadar has been spreading the gospel across the USA, Europe and Asia. On this special ADE night, he'll show us what he is all about; playing beautiful music you'll never forget…
MARCEL VOGEL
The bearded lumberjack from rural Germany is chopping soulful tunes as a profession. Many influences are shinning through when Marcel is behind the decks: the heat and energy of the Chicago Disco masters, the grittiness of the Detroit godfathers, the playfulness of Berlin’s freestyle jocks and the soulful tradition of New York Garage.
Furthermore Marcel is about to bust loose to take over the world from his new hometown of Amsterdam constantly facing adventures as a party organizer and promoter. Whereas his small numbers limited edition label 'Lumberjacks in Hell' has a happy and dedicated following among left field and disco DJ’s around the world.
MR MENDEL
Mr. Mendel, an Amsterdam native, has developed his DJ’ing skills to an all-round style, collecting and spinning dance music from all corners of the globe with only one condition: “as long as it’s good soulful music”. Always selecting passionate, intriguing tunes. You'll hear sexy melodies, funk filled basslines, energetic drums, exotic percussion and euphoric vocals.
Currently he hosts successful parties, like The Daisy Age at Bitterzoet and I Love Vinyl at Canvas, which continue to attract an enthusiastic crowd of music lovers. Mr. Mendel knows how to rock a party with his soulful, upbeat, heartfelt musical extravaganza.
