RICARDO VILLALOBOS (CL, Cocoon)
Ricardo Villalobos is a Chilean electronic music producer and DJ. He is well-known for his work in the minimal techno and microhouse genres.
Villalobos was born in the capital of Chile, Santiago, in the year 1970. However, at the age of three he moved to Germany with his family after General Augusto Pinochet overthrew the socialist government of Salvador Allende in 1973.
When Ricardo was around 10 or 11 he started to play conga and bongos. Though he loved music, he could never see himself as a musician. In the late eighties he began to make electronic music. From a very young age he has been a a big fan of Depeche Mode, even following their tours around Europe to listen to them.
Villalobos takes much of his inspiration from Depeche Mode, as well as other artists such as Daniel Miller, Thomas Melchior, Baby Ford, Daniel Bell and Andrew Weatherall. He has also taken inspiration from rhythmic South American music.
Villalobos began to play his music at parties while he was studying at university, but this was only for his own enjoyment. He started a label, Placid Flavour, in 1993 but this was unsuccessful. His first record was released on the German Playhouse label in 1994 and he began DJing as a professional in 1998, and is in present times regarded as one of the most important minimal DJs in Europe, alongside other talented chilean djs and producers such as Luciano Nicolet (an occasional collaborator) and Dandy Jack

DANIEL STEFANIK (DE, Cocoon)
“To make music, that is when you are in love. It’s just so beautiful. It just makes you so terribly happy.”
Born in a rather provincial area around Leipzig Daniel initially in his boyhood had his first rhythmic taste by way of the little drummer boy set for 8 years. Starting in the mid-nineties he immediately felt in love with Detroit Techno. What followed was the Stefanik big-bang: research, reading, slangin goods, learning, cash collection, looting of the hard wax, the development of an affinity for the proper records, laying sets in the Berlin strong box, adding new wrinkles to his sound…until he then belonged to those who had taken such a dose of the electro that there was no turning back.
Together with Stefan Wesemann as Urban Force he affects a unique vision from dub, electronic, & techno. Further stations of his production and DJ activity are Statik Entertainment including Digital Label-Instabil, Cargo Edition, Moon Harbour, Tanzmann & Stefanik, Dessous, Mobilee, a residency as DJ in the Distillery in Leipzig and Club Zooma Plauen, and not to forget his numerous remixes with the completely special Stefanik-Feder (feather).
The playful multifaceted-nous, mental impact and nerdy aesthetic of his musicals put different stylistic facets to: dub, house, techno, minimal-, & maximalist tonal imagery, in addition to the Detroit bow each with weight and pitch as an adjustable parameter, seeping into the Stefanik-esque production - a script without rigid limits!
The end of 2008 saw a special heartfelt occasion with the album “Reactivity” on Static Entertainment – a truth, on many levels worked hybrid from the dub world, harmonic riffs, ambient moments paired off with depth and visionary impact from house and techno.
Currently Daniel Stefanik is at the like-minded Freude am Tanzen camp, with his first release, which in 2008 was blessed with the ‘licht of vinyl’ being itself a true enriching of the opulent FAT-catalog. His art is to reduce at just the right place, thereby the quintessence of the music is brought to the fore and at the same time a feeling of frivolity is left behind.

FUNK E (RO, Desolat)
Travel back to the beginning of the year 2000 when a young Laurence Gavrila was a rapper by the name of Funkmaster General performing in a hip hop group named ‘The Dream Team’.
Then fast forward to 2002 and the Funkmaster General had already immersed himself in the art of the vinyl format soon after discovering the world of underground dance music.
By 2003 after an inspiring journey to the Isle of Ibiza, he was fully aware of which path his music career would take. Gone were the rap tones Funkmaster General was well known for and in was his new found desire of house, minimal and techno.
Funkmaster General was over. Funk E was born.

JEAN-CEDRIC (FR, Channel Zoo)
Performing each season in Ibiza for 11 years JeanCedric is without doubt Ibiza's party animal. It’s his search for quality sounds and desire to share the tracks he loves that keep him on the winding music path that he began at 13.
JeanCedrics vinyl collection is spread all around the world. It’s however the digital interface that- years after he got the first vinyl- has opened doors and gives him an exciting possibility to play with loops, effects and harmonies.
His energy definitely shines through in his music selection. European in his heart, famous for his tech-house sets, the Parisian is an appreciated guest in countries like Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Spain.
Apart from residency at Zoo Project he can be found behind the turntables of dedicated places like Underground or at Ibiza’s cosmopolitan Km5. In the time to come his dream is to have his own web radio to promote sounds from the underground. ..
