Heist Recordings, initially brought to life by Detroit Swindle and subsequently by Dam Swindle, stands out as a platform meticulously curated to present not only their own musical outputs but to also spotlight and support kindred musicians. Established in the summer of 2013, the label's inaugural release was Detroit Swindle's "Break Up To Make Up" EP. Fast forward to nearly 40 releases and 5 compilations later, Heist has not only remained a trusted label for bona fide underground house and electronic music but also successfully introduced artists like Frits Wentink, Nebraska, Adesse Versions, Fouk, Kassian, Nachtbraker, and Alma Negra. The continued exploration for fresh talent is spearheaded by Lars & Maarten, with a concentrated effort on the A&R aspect of the label.

Up until 2016, the label adhered to a unique remixing concept: the annual "Round Up EP," where remixing pairings among Heist artists were determined by pure luck of the draw and released as a limited edition double pack. Subsequently, Lars and Maarten decided to expand their creative horizons by incorporating additional remixers to the EPs, bringing fascinating collaborative dynamics and welcoming new members into the label family, including Matthew Herbert, Tom Noble, Pépé Bradock, Ge-ology, and Byron the Aquarius.

Transitioning into 2019, the label spotlighted a fresh wave of immensely talented newcomers such as Dutch artists Perdu and Makèz, while also featuring new releases from label regulars like Fouk and Detroit Swindle themselves. By 2023, Heist Recordings celebrated a remarkable decade in the industry, introducing artists like Byron the Aquarius, Amy Dabbs, and Cinthie, as well as presenting new releases from Dam Swindle themselves, ensuring that the label remains a prominent figure in the distribution and production of innovative, quality house and electronic music.
