Pakhuis is dance music, art, good food, a special location and mixing crowds. A festival like no other.
In recent years, fragmentation and commercialization have thrown the city of Rotterdam – with its rich history in electronic dance music – back into a state of dullness and monotony. Pakhuis is based upon a collaboration of different organizations, with different styles, that share the same enthusiasm.
Pakhuis is breaking the silence in Rotterdam's nightlife, offering a chance to talented artists and their innovative and creative organizations, providing each of them with a healthy platform to do their own thing. Pakhuis is currently the most remarkable initiative to revitalize Rotterdam's electronic dance scene. Pakhuis presents the dance public with a variety of dance music and offers its participants a chance for networking, co-operation and a possibility to work together with like-minded people.
One of our core principles is that quality doesn't have to be pricey. The bigger names in the 'Dance Industry" (and we don't like the sound of that word) keep demanding more and more, leaving less and less for all other aspects that make up a good party. One of those, of course, is the location. Pakhuis Festival Rotterdam is held in vast monumental warehouse complex named 'WHT" or 'Westelijk Handelsterrein", which has a central street, connecting adjoining units on both sides. During Pakhuis Festival nights these smaller areas are converted into club rooms and a chill-out for one night. The central street serves as a meeting place to eat, drink, smoke, have conversations: offering time and space to chill and socialize – a practice that has been disappearing in modern day club life.
A fixed part of the Pakhuis Festival formula is an all you can eat organic dinner at top restaurant level for just € 6,-. This offers the opportunity to the public to meet and greet the artists, and start the evening with their friends without having to cook.

Op 31 december is het Westelijk Handelsterrein opnieuw de ideale plek om het nieuwe jaar in te luiden. In dit monumentale pand zijn er maar liefst 10 verschillende 'pakhuizen' met minstens zoveel muziekstijlen van een breed aanbod muzikaal talent. Van deep- & techhouse en techno tot 'jazz dance', 80's & 90's, hiphop en meer; PKHS is weer terug op haar favoriete locatie!

Het prachtige Westelijk Handelsterrein is op 31 december 2013 weer de ideale spot om het nieuwe jaar in te luiden. Met tien zalen, evenzoveel muziekstijlen, goede sfeer en een vrachtlading muzikaal talent, is dit voor iedereen een avond om naar uit te kijken.
Rotterdams indoor dance-festival met art & food komt dit jaar op 13 oktober terug in het Westelijk Handelsterrein. Het evenement bestaat twee jaar en dat wordt gevierd met een speciaal super goedkoop earlybird kaartje vanaf slechts €13,50!

Pakhuis Festival, zeven area's met veertig artiesten

Rotterdams succesvolle minifestival vindt op 26 maart voor de derde keer plaats. Meer dan acht organisaties in zeven area's, drieëndertig dj's, op 1500 m2 Westelijk Handelsterrein. Met zeven internationale acts zoals Roman Flügel, Mark Henning, Masomenos, Giles Smith en meer! En geen zin om zelf te koken? Tussen 18:00 en 21:00 serveren ze voor slechts €5 extra een heerlijk 'all you can eat' biologisch diner als start van de avond. En gedurende de hele nacht wordt er ook vers gemaakte sushi verkocht! 11
