Bootleg DJ Contest 2009
In cooperation with Popunie, Bootleg DJ Cafe is organizing the 5th edition of the Bootleg DJ Contest, which has started at the beginning of october. 3 Wednesdays each month, 3 contestants battle 45 minutes each for a place in the final of the month, which is held every last Saturday. The 10 winners of the month plus the 2 audience favourites will battle in the semi finals in August 2009 for 4 places in the final. The final will be held in the first weekend of September 2009, during the opening event of the cultural season in Rotterdam, Club Cruise. The contestants will be playing in front of 3 jurymembers who are programmers of clubs and events, promoters for club nights, active DJ's or have their own night at Bootleg DJ Cafe.
The jury will give points for:
-arrangement of your set
-choice of records
-presentation
-mixing skills
The Prizes:
Champion becomes resident DJ at Bootleg DJ Cafe
Champion receives a S.A.E. course Electronic Music Production worth 2000,- Euro
Champion will accompany Michel de Heij, Benny Rodrigues or Joris Voorn on one of their gigs and will play the warmup set
Champion plays at Best Beatz FFWD truck from the Zuidhollandse Popunie
Champion plays at Watt
Champion plays at Paard van Troje in The Hague
Champion plays at Waterfront in Rotterdam
Champion receives a Clone coupon worth 70,- Euro
Finalists (4) receive a Clone T-shirt
Finalists (4) receive a Urban Unit coupon worth 30,- Euro
Finalists (4) play at CBS radio
Winners of the month (10) receive a Clone coupon worth 50,- Euro
Winners of the month (10) play at Dynamix Radio
Winners of the month (10) play at House City Radio
Winners of the month (10) have their DJ profile printed in Speaker Magazine and on www.bootlegdjcafe.com
The Bootleg DJ Contest 2009 has room for 90 contestants.
