The benefit:
~DYSTOPIA - Home of The Hague’s Bunker Records, Motorwolf, Crème Organization and many other groups and labels - will soon (by the end of 2006) stop to be an outlet for the many underground rock and electronic scenes of The Hague. But a new and much more improved location is in the making: hopefully within a year and certainly with many more possibilities than Dystopia could ever want. In a derelict, but centrally located industrial area (near the 2 central stations of the city), where nearly half the buildings are empty (no neighbours = no volume limits!) and where it will take at least another 10 to 15 years before the city council starts 'cleaning up', the search for 'space' has begun. There are different negotiations going on as of right now between an influential foundation for art events and certain debonair parties within the city administration to seriously realise a free place to create our own low-profile and yet internationally orientated centre for underground music subculture, which will combine accommodation for record labels, graphic design and printing, rehearsal cabins for bands, artists in residence, recording studios, concerts, parties, video/movie/multi-media
productions, motor freaks, weirdo installations and many more: a little free-state in this overregulated society, where many different disciplines and many different people from all over the world can interact freely and thus can inspire and stimulate one another. This will not only be beneficiary for The Hague's electronic underground, but for the whole West Coast electro scene, as it will be easily accessible to the scenes of the other cities in the west of Holland. For all this a little money is required to invest in new infra-structure and therefore this benefit CD release has been planned, where every involved artist, label and distributor is contributing freely to help realising a project that in the near future might bring the whole electronic community to a new level...
