Cornelius
at the Royal Festival Hall

Apparently he plays to stadiums of 20,000 in Japan. I'd never heard of him. However, led along like the little lamb I am by my experimental friend Marcus, I invest £17.50 in a ticket and meekly skip along to Festival Hall.
Bifters and beers on the balcony, then inside to watch the warm-up DJs, who are playing classical music in a classical venue. How ironic. The cut-up of huge orchestral crescendoes sounds immense, and if there's one thing the Festival Hall has going for it over lesser venues, it's the sheer scale and quality of the sound. Awesome.
