Partyflock interview with DJ Let's Start The Dance

anoniem gepubliceerd op
Hi Jos! Let's start with an easy one. How are you doing? And where are you in the world?
Thank you for asking. I'm doing great! I'm working on things that align closely with my feelings, which is very motivating!

What's your musical history? How did you first get into music?
Music has always played an important role in my life. When I was very young, I'd often play with my friends, but their parents' sound systems often took a hit because I preferred playing with that instead of their children's toys.
Around my twenties, I started organizing club nights with others in the alternative scene, where we focused on tracks that we believed would become big or were very interesting to share.
After a very long break, I got back into it. I bought a DJ set, took a few lessons to master the equipment, and started practicing.

Your first gig is at Love House – what inspired you to join this event?
I attended both editions of Love House and was pleasantly surprised by what they delivered. The style was very close to mine: quality house music, similar to what you'd hear at beach parties in Ibiza.
I created a demo, Indian Summer Gift (available on my SoundCloud), and Xander and Dennis, the Love House organizers, were very impressed. One thing led to another from there.

Please describe your music style as a DJ.
I love taking the audience on a journey. I like to start slow and then build the set track by track, so we can share a great vibe together. Recently, I came across a performance on YouTube by D-Nox LIVE at Warung Beach Club That's the vibe I like to create.

.

What is the direction of your music? What is your audience like, age-wise and vibe-wise?
It's important to me that the entire set is balanced, so I spend a lot of time ensuring that. If a fantastic track doesn't match the rest, it doesn't make the cut.
My audience loves quality house music like what you'd find at festivals such as LoveLand or Komm schon Alter. One of my favorite venues is Het Sieraad, where I regularly go as a visitor. The crowd, the venue, and the sound there are sublime.

You've been a DJ for how many years? Please tell the readers what to expect from your gig at Love House
Let's say I've been active again for the past two years. After some great corporate gigs, I'm thrilled to be returning to the club circuit. I'm grabbing this opportunity with both hands to deliver a carefully crafted set that reflects my style. After me, DJ Ferm and Paul Sparkes will keep the vibe going strong.
We're going to create something special in 's-Hertogenbosch, and I recommend arriving early (20:30). I've got a lot to share in my 90-minute set.

Aside from Love House, please tell us about your plans, upcoming events, and DJ gigs.
Some promoters will be listening to my set, which will also be available on SoundCloud the next day. Hopefully, this will lead to new bookings. I definitely want to keep growing. While there's nothing concrete yet but here are some promising discussions happening right now.
