Martyro

BIOGRAPHY

In the mid 90's Martyro came in contact with electronic music. He really liked it and in the late 90's he became (and still is) a frequent visitor of large danceparties. He was influenced by hardcore and oldschool music from the 90's and he felt most attracted to hardhouse and hardtrance music. He loved the upcoming hard sound from Italy and Germany, later known as hardstyle. Medio 2001 he decided to start spinning hardtrance/hardstyle with vinyl.

Martyro only plays the former hardtrance/hardstyle sound (mainly German and Italian) nowadays.

During the years Martyro appreciated Techno music more and more. He picked up the upcoming Hardtechno (schranz) and started playing this music since medio 2003 as well. He also picked up funky and driving techno during the years. His style is energetic and very dancable; expect driving loops, funky elements and breaks, building up to climaxes.

With early hardstyle Martyro has played for HardHouse Cafe in The Shaker (nowadays: Just-4U), Hardbeat Café in Rotterdam and some smaller local parties in 2003. He has played for local radio stations in 2002, 2003 and 2004. 6 February 2004 he played an early hardstyle set at Intensive in the Atlantic bar in Krommenie. 4 and 6 March 2004 he closed off in the main area of Hattrick; The World Edition · (04-03-04) and Hattrick; The World Edition · (06-03-04) in Utrecht ! On 19 February 2005 he played at Basstic Ⅲ in Harmelen, and also the 5th of November at Basstic Ⅳ. 17 September 2005 he played an energetic HardTechno set @ Dance Garden 2005 in City Hall, Utrecht. 6 January 2006 he played (early) hardstyle at Supersonic · Invasion of the talents, And at Oldstyle 15-09-2006, Club Poema.

From January-October 2005 Martyro was resident for Deckstruction.net where he played a weekly 2 hour internet TV-stream show. Unfortunately, this internetvideo could not continue broadcasting.
From November 2005 till May 2006 he was resident for Omega TV where he continued his weekly internet TV-stream show.

Martyro always builds up his sets taking into account the time of the night and the line-up.
