Greetings and welcome to PureDJ! First, to introduce ourselves, we at PureDJ are a community of DJs and music lovers from around the world. We don't see ourselves as the owners of the station but as its loving creators and contributors. We strive to be a competitive and professional online radio station with the best dance and electronic music. We could not have come this far without the support of our online community. We'd like to thank our supporters and listeners in the world.
In the beginning, before officially becoming PureDJ, the online source for the best live dance and electronic music, we started a small experimental station called, "The Lounge", which hardly had any music at all. We built "The Lounge" because we all had a common thought, which was, that there was no good music on the radio anymore. Initially we were just having fun, but as we became more involved, we decided we needed something new and something different. Hence came the start of an endeavor to begin a professional level online radio station, but not just any online radio station. What we had in mind was to create an online station with the possibilities of hosting live DJ performances and at the same time utilizing IRC (Internet Relay Chat) services. We initially started off partnering with an IRC group which was aimed at providing DJ interaction and as time progressed, we developed a prominent web presence, with a suitable name and an interactive website, but as we struggled with creative differences, we left the IRC partners and some of the talented DJs followed us. Thus, coming to the raw beginnings of PureDJ and PureDJ.com.
During the months of July to August of 2001, we initially appeared with a simple web site and so now and then a live dj performance. Since then, we have committed a lot of time and effort into developing a custom website with customized systems and services that would satisfy our vision. Evidently, we are on our way to completing a very stable and interactive system that makes PureDJ quite unique. April 2003 is our mile stone. We are now becoming a fully licensed webradio station. Since our beginning we have been testing, working on a great system.
PureDJ has been a labor of love and we hope our site and services will stay up and running far into the future, keeping you, our community of listeners, visitors, and DJs hooked up with the latest technology and services to be found on the Internet.
