Op 17 oktober keert The Outside Agency terug naar Groningen. Niet zomaar een show, maar een moment van thuiskomen op vertrouwde grond: de kelder van Simplon. Geen lichtshows of grootspraak. Wel een diepe duik in de duistere onderstromen van hardcore, industrial en crossbreed – genadeloos, compromisloos, en zoals altijd: helemaal op hun eigen voorwaarden.
The Outside Agency – het duo dat al decennia balanceert op de grens van rave en sonisch experiment – stond vorig jaar nog op Thunderdome voor tienduizenden. Maar wie ze kent, weet: hun geluid komt het best tot zijn recht in de club. Tussen bakstenen muren, in de rook, op ooghoogte. Hier is geen ruimte voor afleiding. Alleen voor dreunende kicks, vervormde leads en ritmes die de vloer laten golven.

Frontman DJ Ferox, samen met Tex-nd en Algos, bouwt al jaren aan een eigen microkosmos binnen de hardcore. Onlangs brachten Ferox & Ki-Real de The Awakening EP uit: zes tracks die de grenzen van het genre verkennen zonder ze te breken. Die lijn zetten ze voort, live, rauw en zonder filter.
Ook Alex B maakt zijn opwachting. Deze hardcore veteraan maakte furore in de gouden jaren van de millennium hardcore met tracks als ‘Bij Gebrek aan Beter en De Spelregels’ op The Third Movement (van DJ Promo). Hij kwam recent ijzersterk terug met releases als ‘Break Down The System’ en ‘Ghostnation’. Zijn nieuwste track ‘The Game Is Mine’, uitgebracht op Afterlife Records (onderdeel van Masters of Hardcore), werd groots onthaald en markeert zijn volledige comeback. Dit is geen nostalgische trip. Dit is een momentopname van waar hardcore nu is – en waar het naartoe beweegt. Vanuit Groningen. Vanuit Simplon. Rauw, eerlijk en onversneden.

Not just another show, but a homecoming of sorts – back to familiar ground: the basement of Simplon. No light shows, no grandstanding. Just a deep dive into the darker edges of hardcore, industrial, and crossbreed – relentless, uncompromising, and, as always, entirely on their own terms.
The Outside Agency – a duo that has walked the line between rave and sonic experimentation for decades – played Thunderdome last year in front of tens of thousands. But those who know them understand: their sound thrives best in the club. Between brick walls, in the smoke, at eye level. No distractions. Just pounding kicks, distorted leads, and rhythms that shake the floor.
The night is curated by Time to Rave Records – a local voice with global ambition. Frontman DJ Ferox, along with Tex-nd and Algos, has been building a unique microcosm within hardcore for years. Recently, Ferox & Ki-Real released The Awakening EP: six tracks that stretch the genre’s boundaries without breaking them. That same energy will be brought to the stage – live, raw, and unfiltered.
Also performing is Alex B, a veteran of the hardcore scene who made his mark in the golden era of millennium hardcore with tracks like “Bij Gebrek aan Beter” and “De Spelregels” on The Third Movement (DJ Promo’s label).
