Yellofox
The music of Yellofox is strongly influenced by the American music from the 60s and 70s: narrative, energetic, melancholic and full of power. A wonderful psychedelic mix of pop, folk and bluegrass. Yellofox are primarily musical storytellers with a lot of strings and a lot of vocals. But it is above all the unbridled energy and passion that splashes off the stage during a live performance that makes Yellofox unique.
Barn & Belle
Barn & Belle is an americana/roots duo from Geleen in the southern part of the Netherlands. Close harmony vocals are accompanied by an arsenal of country and folk instruments. Washboard, banjo, dobro, melodica and their 'travellers drummachine' are instruments that are often used during their performances. Barn & Belle play a mix of americana and roots music, in which the chemistry between the two multi-instrumentalists is of great importance.
HOBOJOBOS
HOBOJOBOS from Eindhoven plays folkpunk, combining often cheerful tunes with thoughtful lyrics (in Dutch) concerning topics as depression, alcoholism and societal misjustice. Stories ranging from plastic ending up in the ocean to not being able to get up out of bed make their way into the songs. Their tracks are often short, fast and inviting to sing and dance along to (preferably like crabs).
The Blackwax
Blackwax are the perfect example of two kids born in the wrong era. Hijacking the record crates of there parents from an early age and giving them a lick of black new age paint, This twopiece from Eindhoven, consisting of DJ Wing Mok and guitarist Timo van Lierop - plays those tunes your Aunt Suzie would climb down the drainage pipe for at 1 PM. To be the passenger, drained down shots of tequila in her boyfriends barracuda. who probably loved purple haze and loved to hear tho's psychedelic sounds before they would groove to the next garage tune and swing their soul into the kitchen.
