Good Things Festival, Australia’s favourite alternative east coast summer music festival is almost upon us and we’re thrilled to announce the addition of The Butterfly Effect to the line-up. After an 11-year gap, The Butterfly Effect will be performing their first festival appearances. “More than bristling at the chance to play alongside our great mates Karnivool, on a great bill full of amazing bands for a huge festival. Good Things will rock! Things have never been better in the Butters camp; we are ready, willing and super stoked to be a part of such a massive line up and we are ready for more Good Things.” says The Butterfly Effect vocalist, Clint Boge. He adds, “If someone had of told me that more than six years after leaving the band we’d be back together, stronger than ever and playing Good Things, I’d have told them they were dreaming 😛 But here we are. I never thought I’d be playing another show with The Butterfly Effect let alone a festival like Good Things, it’s f#cking huge, I’m stoked, what can I say? There is no other place I would rather be, than sharing the stage with such an amazing line up. Australia has some of the most dedicated festival fans I can’t wait to get amongst it. We’ll see you there.” After a 5-year hiatus and since the release of their 2008 album Final Conversation of Kings, The Butterfly Effect released their new single, Unbroken in August, which topped the AIR charts and fuelled a run of sold-out shows around the country. Through the course of their phenomenal career, The Butterfly Effect excited fans and brought venues and festivals to life with their three massive albums (all certified Gold), one incredible EP that introduced the world to the band, six consecutive years with triple j Hottest 100 entries, ARIA chart placements, triple j One Night Stands, Big Day Out main stage spots, overseas tours, DVD Documentaries, countless tours and so much more. Due to scheduling conflict, The Damned Things will no longer be appearing at Good Things Festival. ------------------------------------
Looking back at last year’s inaugural Good Things Festival, it’s hard to not feel your engines revving once more; it was an absolute blast of a time. The greatest thing since Saturday morning cartoons, some have said. We aren’t sure who exactly, but some. Definitely. Surely. Good Things Festival and the crowd of hard-scheming Muttleys that made its 2018 event possible are thrilled to present you it's 2019 line-up in all its finely tuned glory. This year, Sydney fans will be marvelling at the spectacle from Good Things’ new Sydney digs at Centennial Park, a doosey of a course if there ever was one. Good things come to those who wait...And now here they are...The astounding group of artists that assemble the 2019 edition of Good Things Festival. The bands are approaching the starting line... First, is the Incredible Ire driven by Parkway Drive, fresh from headlining major European Festivals and now headlining their first ever Australian touring festival playing their only Australian shows for 2019. ‘It’s been 3 long years for fans, but the wait is finally over…in joint pole position is the Degenerates in A Day To Remember. Manoeuvring for position is the Mansfield Maniacs, Violent Soho for their only Australian shows of 2019. Right behind is no pads, no helmets, just the pop punk anthems of Simple Plan. Then there's Peddlers of punk the legendary Bad Religion. Next we have Simple Creatures with Mark Hoppus (blink-182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) followed by metal heavyweights Trivium, Australian surf rock royalty Skegss, Australian rock titans Karnivool and Enter Shikari. Right on their tail are the dynamic duo, global pop superstars The Veronicas. And there's Falling In Reverse with Dance Gavin Dance. Cruising along below is that Mean Machine with those double dealing do-badders Reel Big Fish, buzzing metal pop sensation Poppy, Thy Art Is Murder, Ice Nine Kills and Slowly Slowly. Rounding out this cavalcade of stars is some of the best young Australian bands on the circuit including The Bennies, Voyager, Yours Truly, Windwaker, Gravemind and The Beautiful Monument. And away they go... On the way-out Good Things Festival.
