In its nine-year history Poema RAW has become the city's bastion for underground dance music. Names like Svan Vath, Paul Kalkbrenner, Marco Carolla, Jeff Mills and Chris Liebing have all played in the club's cozy basement surroundings, while Speedy J has graced the bill on more than one occasion. The club's laissez faire music policy, low ceilings and underground sentiment make it the perfect setting for Electric Deluxe – a home away from home almost, which is why the chief himself will be manning the decks for a surging five hour session. Of het nu de crème van de techno scene, een festival met duizenden feestvierders of een intieme afterhourclub betreft Electric Deluxe is een feest als geen ander. Op zaterdag 21 september zal Speedy J's vlaggenschip-evenement neerdalen in Utrecht voor een zeer speciale overname van Club Poema RAW. 1

In september bestaat Poema RAW alweer 9 jaar en dat moet gevierd worden! We lanceren een nieuw concept in samenwerking met Kranck DJ Contest winnares Luna Ludmila, Suzanne komt Smeerboel festivalgangers schoonboenen, grondlegger van de hedendaagse techno Speedy J neemt zijn label Electric Deluxe mee en wij sluiten deze maand – waarin voor ieder wat wils geprogrammeerd is – af met drie prominente voortrekkers van de Nederlandse house: Boris Werner, Kabale und Liebe, Melon.

Electric Deluxe komt naar Poema! Het sinds 2008 lopende techno label van Jochem Paap a.ka. Speedy J dat aansluitend feesten geeft in de Melkweg (Amsterdam), heeft de meer dan 20 jaar ervaring en ongelooflijke kunde van haar geestelijk vader in zich om de vooruitstrevendheid dat het ambieert te zijn. Producers als Chris Liebing, Terence Fixmer, Gary Beck - to just name a few – hebben zich volgzaam aan het label verbonden.
Speedy J wordt gezien als één van de eerste techno producers uit de Benelux. Samen met beruchte namen als Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twins en Richie Hawtin heeft de Rotterdammer het genre omhoog helpen tillen nadat de muzikale stroming uit Detroit was overgewaaid. Als één van de grondleggers van de techno muziek dat anno 2013 wereldwijd een enorm publiek heeft bereikt stuurt hij de nieuwe generatie professionele muzikanten – misschien wel zijn grootste fans – aan vanaf eerzaam behaalde hoogte.
Dat Club Poema als primair op techno muziek gefocuste nachtclub dichtbij haar 9-jarige bestaan de grootste techno artiest van eigen bodem over de vloer heeft en daarbij zijn eigen muzieklabel en aansluitend evenement vertegenwoordigt, voelt zowel een grote eer als een volmaakt huwelijk.
