Needless to say that this music became his original inspiration and is the base to what Terry’s sound has evolved in today.
As one of the key players behind Amsterdam based party organisation ElectroNation Terry Toner has gradually built his name as a household force in the European electronic music scene. With 2 critically acclaimed releases which have been supported by international powerhouses like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Tiefschwarz, Dubfire, Slam, Fedde Le Grand, Gregor Tresher, John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Howells, Tom Novy, Mason and many others he finally seems to fulfil his prodigal expectations and with more releases planned, there’s no reason to see it stopping.
Besides producing Terry’s Dj schedule been as hectic as one can be spanning the entire European continent. Already being a proven name in his home country of Holland it became time to span the energy and magic of Terry’s dj sets throughout the rest of the world resulting in several international residencies in various A-listed location like The EGG (London), Sugar Factory (Amsterdam), Chicago Social Club (Amsterdam).
Besides these residencies his dj schedule have been filled with several key performances in various places and venues like Sonar (Barcelona), Fuse (Brussels), Ministry of Sound (London), Soundplanet (Kiev), Paradiso (Amsterdam), Dancevalley, Mysterland and numerous other places where his energetic sound has touched dancefloors into electronic frenzies
▒▒▒ RAAF & ABSURD ▒▒▒
RAAF & ABSURD is the recent coming together of Raven Verhoef and Abdelkarim El Hantali, two talented DJs from the Netherlands. They first met at a DJ contest three years ago, but it was after playing together at an afterparty that they saw their stylistic stars aligned. As such, since then they have been perfecting their common ground; distilling their own respective influences into one new and unique sound.
As it goes, said influences are mainly each other and the club; the crowds they play to and the faces they see peering back at them. Years of playing and partying in clubs means the pair have enjoyed experiences across the whole dance spectrum, from house to techno via all the deeper stuff in between.
Their focus is on raw deep house, music with texture and feeling as much as a purposeful drive. “We always like to surprise crowds with our energetic approach” they say. Hear their DJ exploits over the year.
RAAF & ABSURD have played the likes of Windmill, Cookie Club and Midnight Freaks at club AIR. Besides they are regularly seen at Studio 80, Club UP and the Chicago Social Club, on nights such as Black Box, Voidd, New Babylon, PLAK, BENDE and Nachtdivisie.
At the moment a duo built on the reputations of two of the Dutch scene’s finest, the pair is hard at work in the studio with the results soon to be released to the wider world. At that point, then, the RAAF & ABSURD project will really take on life of its own.

Black Box focusses on the new international house sound, with tracks often arranged in a true song-like matter. This sound is breaking international charts with productions from artists such as Maya Jane Coles, Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Crosstown Rebels, Visionquest, Benoit & Sergio, Osunlade, Maceo Plex, Soulclap, Wolf + Lamb, Dyed Sounderom, etc.
Studio 80, with it’s colourful and creative visitors, has proven to be the ideal venue to present this new music direction. With warm, melodic and sexy grooves, referring back to the original Chicago (deep) house sound, but at the same time taking it in a new direction.
Black Box has become the weekly platform for this new sound, presented by a new generation of Amsterdam DJ’s.
