In 1981, the year that Disco ruled the world, somewhere in Holland, surrounded by his parents record collection, Joshua Walter came into this world. Growing up he was musically inspired by artist such as: Earth, Wind & Fire, Betty Wright, Michael Jackson, George Benson, Prince and so many more.
INSPIRATION Dj’s such as: Ben Liebrand, Jazzy Jeff, Roger Sanchez and Dj Roog, showed him that spinning records was a true form of Art and Joshua Walter set out to master the craft. After long hours of (re)mixing, editing and spinning the wheels of steel, Joshua took the Dutch club scene by storm.
SOUND Due to his eclectic style you’ll never exactly know what to expect. Taking you on a highly energetic musical journey, Joshua provides you with the best old school tracks and the hottest tunes of the moment. You can be sure that his unique sets are filled with soul classics, discofied house, funky urban tracks & exclusive edits laced together with a special selection of breathtaking acapellas.
CLUBS With residencies at Jimmy Woo (HushHush), Musk, Square, Escape, BC Republiek & Shôko (Barcelona, Spain), after spinning his records @ Mysteryland 2006, Panama, the Supperclub, The MatriXX, Hotel Arena, The Mansion and many other (inter)national clubs. Joshua Walter is proving to be one of Holland’s upcoming talents. This was highlighted by his performances on Queensnight & day in Utrecht for a crowd of 20.000 party people (2007 & 2008)! And his 3 hour solo set during New Years Eve 2007 playing for over 35.000 people at Dam square in Amsterdam. (Broadcasted on national TV & radio)
RADIO Joshua Walter started with the production of Blended for Dutch national radio station CAZ in September 2006! Running for more than a year Blended featured a selection of the hottest urban & groovy house tracks out there, mixed with old skool club smash hits, blended with tomorrow's top tunes! Early 2009 Joshua Walter formed a collaboration with DJ Lars Vegas for the production of “BlockParty” a radio show for TMF HitRadio. A show unparalleled on the Dutch Radio because of it’s eclectic selection of top tunes and the weekly delivery of exclusive mash ups.
ENGINEERZ OF SOUL In 2002 Joshua Walter founded the music production & consultancy company “Engineerz of Soul”. With the start of E.o.S. he had a simple principle in mind. “Whatever we do, we do it with soul!”. Over the years Engineerz of Soul worked on radio productions for national & local radio stations in the Netherlands (CAZ, Radio 538, Radio Veronica & TMF HitRadio!), mash up productions for the MTV Mash up CD by Rob Boskamp and several other (re)mix productions.
