Danny D:
Hard style! What do you think of it?
Frank:
In the beginning a lot of todays hardstyle producers got inspired from my tracks. They sampled my bass drums and basslines and imitate the way I did my breaks.
Some of them did it harder , louder and more crazy. Then it developed further into todays Hardstyle .
In my opinion this genre has no progress anymore , Everyone uses the same scratchy sounds , everything is on the “one” and all possible ways to do a crazy break/drumrolls are exhausted.
It is a pity, because at the beginning it was quite fresh.
Sometimes it seems that this genre is slaughtered from so many producers.
This is one reason I try to reduce big breaks in my latest productions and try something slightly different.
I used to play hardstyle tracks, but right now only 1 record out of 20 is good.
The people like it harder, faster, crazier, but where can the producers go? The only option is to do it like Hardcore/ Gabber. But that’s means a step back and not forward.
Anyway, every kind of music can be boring after a while (including my music) so this is why I listen to different kind of electronic music all the time..
Nice intervieuw, he has the same opinion as me about hardstyle
respect to one of the best producers í've seen
