I love to the people here, especially in Amsterdam. But to say they friendly and warm like Italians, etc....is crazee-babi.

There are lots of beautiful dutch cities, but most of them are very boring and full of very standard uninteresting people or students, like Utrecht is. You know, the calvanistic dutch mentality.. At least in amsterdam you run into interesting people and freaks from all over the world. They dont call it the Republic of Amsterdam for nothing. Also Amsterdam still has somewhat of an underground scene, which you cant say for most other cities.laatste aanpassing

Not even! Utrecht is worlds better than Amsterdam. Infact, it's alot nicer than Rotterdam too, if you're looking for a charming city with old buildings and what not. Leiden is really nice, too. No clue about Haarlem, I only rode a bus through at night, and i've simply never been to Alkmaar. And whats the place near the coast with the Dolphinarium... ?? That place was nice too, and not just because of the dolphins.

Mwah i have been to Utrecht many times, and I know for a fact that if any city smells like shit it's Utrecht, the Hoog Caterijn is notorius for having junkies shit in every corner.. Its not a bad place, just a bit boring..

haha I don't know who you have talked to, but tell pretty much anyone anywhere that you live in Amsterdam and they love it! And lots of the people that have been here keep on coming back.. Other Dutch cities cant say that!

don't know why anyone would say Amsterdam is a shithole. been all around The Netherlands from Maastricht to Groningen and all of it is beautiful to me. even the "shithole" red light district is beautiful in it's own way. i hope they never change it into some sterile, wanna-be-rich "upscale" shopping district.

There are several things wich strike me while I went in Netherlands:
People don't use serviettes.
LEDS traffic lights aren't available yet.
People don't use helmet when riding a bicycle.
They usually standing too close behind someone when they want to pull the opposite sex.

The origins of this music backs to Germany but its a cold country; not just the weather but also the ppl.
For ex. they know english however they rarely talk.
I find Dutch ppl more friendly & down to earth, relaxed.
Also Amsterdam is a tiny, tidy, clean, safe, easy to travel & easy to explore city
So I try to catch trance parties in NL!
Also Frank Rijkaard is the coach of my team (Galatasaray) atm!
