last week, raul, sebastian and me went to see alva noto live here in valparaiso,
and shit it was cool!..... i would say really really cool.
First of all... his sounds was fantastic, in terms of quality (oh, but he is german
so that isnt a surprise) and his whole show was really hypnotic, the guy is like
a proper machine too. Also, in the same night, we watch byetone, who is from germany
too, and it sounded like alva noto with speed and an electronic guitar.
anyway, all of this reminds me the last time we went to a club called "cafe journal"
here in viña del mar with the same party guys and we heard all this shitty music
that djs here (and maybe the rest of the world) are playing. What happened with
techno and the melodic sense?. People dance now only by instinct to a 4/4 beat, while
djs download everything that is in beatport charts and think they are so fucking
rock stars. God i hate that. i would punch him, but the most sad part is that every
known dj here plays that same music, Minimal "ableton" techno with some congas
and a latin sample.
I really think we need people like alva noto in massive rave partys.
