that you got an better grade for English then for Dutch?

Happens to me a little bit, I always had the same grade for Dutch and English..

I just have a languagefist, that's how we call that in Dutch I think I've learned it the most from television, vacations to other countries and ofcourse from school But I was much further then the other kids at high school. Told you, I've got a languagefist hahaha

when i was 10 years old 2 boys from liverpool (john+joseph Welsh) moved to my town and joined al my school, since then my english aint that bad

speak good, write bad ,and i learnded it on the havo in Holland :

I've learned mij first English words from a computer game. My Dad bought a commodore pc in 1987, and at that time i was 9 years old. Later on i learned English on school. And i had already visited England 3 times at that time.

I've also been to South Africa for about 9 weeks, and they also speak English over there (and 14 other languages)

After school, i started working as international lorrydriver, and the first 3,5 years is did nothing else then driving to the UK and Ireland. So that's a good practice as well. Nowaday's is still go al lot to the UK (almost every week), but i also go a lot to Spain and Italy.

I speak English very well but not so snel but that komt nog well.

Mostly thanks to the media . Watching movies without reading the subtitle's gives you good practicing.

At school and nowadays I study HR-management in English. Nevertheless the grammar still remains a problem for me sometimes..

I watch a lot English movie`s with no subtitle

Hmm odd because that way it's harder to figure out what the words mean compared to the dutch words.

I learn englisch @ school, @ the television and from engisch friends.... I can speak it very well.. but the grammatica of englisch .. Snap ik dus geen reet

I learned English at school and from the television... But it didn't turned out well!

I'm from Vienna, and i learned english in school, but i also spent a year in the US when i was 15, which was definitely the best way to learn/master it..

I believe the dutch have a big advantage when it comes to learning english, because movies are only subtitled, and not completely dubbed (also it is really stupid to see actors "speak" german and quite often not the same person is used to dub the actor, so there can be different voices to the same actor)

I have talked to quite a dutch people, that were actually pretty surprised, how good their english was, just from watching tv, and i personally like the dutch subs, because i get to learn dutch this way

In school and by reading books, watching TV and movies.

i went for 7 months to mallorca with a lot of english guest in my hotel. i did there entertainment was really nice to do!

for now I need to speak English all the time or else nobody wil understand me here

The first 2 years of my life I've lived in the USA (Ponca city, Oklahoma state). So i grew up speaking 2 languages

Last summer i've been to New York for 4 months for an internship. That's a good way to learn english as well.

I learned a lot with watching movies and school offcourse, 2 years ago i've bin in Thailand for 3 months so i had to talk English all the time.
I really love the langluage esspecially the English accent, only my grammer got very bad last years.

I learn it from Cartoon Network when it was still in English....
And my Father and his boyfriend(got a problem with that?)speak english alot.

I learnt it by watching the BBC a lot, and going on holidays to Britain. I had a penpal, but not anymore. I'm now doing a teacher training course. Fun!!
