Translation of interviews

Do you think Partyflock (or someone else) should translate the interviews published to Dutch? This way the "English only" people can understand it as well.

I don´t agree.

This website is different because it is Europe biggest ommunity. Not all of them speak Dutch

don't get me wrong,i agree with you that english is the most common language in europe but that doesn't mean so many people should adjust to it


i think it's good that there is an english section but translating interviews is a bit off a bridge too far for me

When you are at the mainpage, on your right appears a new Intervieuw once in a while. You can also go to interviews on the left in the menu.

A came to this topic because recently an interview with Terror DJ Smurf from the UK was added and I saw that there also was an English version. ( Oke Smurf is English so I understand that it was easier to make one in Englesh first)

So I thought "why not translate the Dutch interviews?"

Everybody knows DJ Tiesto (for example)

I bet some people would like to know what he is saying.


And I may sound annoying with this idea so when I have the time and courage I will be the first to translate one, Just tell me wich one you want

I know for all of them...

but,there's nothing interesting...

Big names like that travel all over the world.
And oke sure you can find English interviews elsewhere BUT I think that the interviews made in the country of the artist are different.

And it's good for PF too (more visitors!)

I want to translate Armand's interview first. I'll translate it than send it to the writer to see if they are okey with translation and than I post it.

I'm translating the Armin van Buuren interview right now. and it is quite a job But i'll make it

It is a bigger job than expected because you have to translate so much. and you can't translate some things literally so I have to think of a right translation.

Easy! Just ask for some volunteers who can translate it in a correct way.

Meaning your English must be above average to be able to translate some Dutch sentences into proper English. and finding alternative words for some typical Dutch words like "voortboorduren", this word can be used in different ways and this time it was used to quickly jump subjects.

Why?

It would be a huge task, for one thing. For another, there are a lot of people who complain about this part being in English. I'm sure having the whole thing in English would cause a huge mess.

I don't thrust automated translation because it will still make mistakes. And then you have to correct the whole thing.

I have made this flock/community

I Just added the interview done with DJ Smurf. Luckely there allready was an English version.

Newsflash:

Unfortunately the writer of the Armin van Buuren interview has protested against translating it. To bad for me!
She rather translates it herself.

Learning from this I've asked the writer of DJ Montana's interview for permission before I actually start translating it. This will save me time and frustration
