How was Traffic?

He was alright..

Traffik played some quite hard tracks, started with Early Rave (T.Vee - You Are A Sucker) and finished with Kotzaak with lots of old industrial hardcore in between

Hoe is de locatie? ik ga er volgende week er een kijkje nemen.

Lokatie is wel te doen.. heeeeel warm boven! en ontzettend duur drinken (alle blikjes flesjes £4) en cola enzo 2,50
En mixjes vanaf £4,50.. en dan krijg je druppie alcohol maar goed dat mocht de pret niet drukken!!

Er was geen tap.. tenminste niet dat ik weet.. alles was dus vanaf 4 eurie..

I tried everything in my power to make the club owners drop the drinks prices or run some sort of promotion but they weren't having it. I think that the prices really took the piss, but it's the same with most clubs in London - everyone usually gets pissed in the pub before the party. I asked them why they charged so much and they said that other clubs now charge the same so why shouldn't they? In my opinion this isn't a valid reason. They are only open for 2 days a week and have a lot of staff to pay, but I still think they can easily manage it if they charge a little less.

I think they are only harming the industry by charging so much, this is why so many people over here just don't bother going clubbing anymore becuase they can't afford it. For one-off special events like DTB people don't mind so much, but if the club wants to attract regular customers that will come back week in week out then they are going the wrong way about it.

As a promoter there is a decision as to whether to hire a cheap venue with lower bar prices but poor quality sound/decoration/security etc.. and make lots of money back or a more expensive venue with high quality production - for me as a hardcore fan and not really a full time promoter there is only one option. So, for me the drinks prices were the only fault with the club (+ blocked ladies toliets of course - but this happens and is out of anyones control) - everything else was really good:

* sound system - crystal clear and really loud all night
* perfect set up in the DJ booth
* excellent lighting
* clean and tidy decoration throughout the venue
* friendly and helpful security

It's difficult to find suitable venues in London for hardcore parties but I think Hidden is the best option at the moment

Alleen beeeeetje vaag dat iedereen maar zijn kauwgom in moest leveren, das toch best lekker als je bent

That's really nice but i was really actually joking

It was just great 2 be there!!!!

The last venue was too expensive to hire and a little too large (we had some areas closed off). There's a long story why this venue was chosen at the last minute for DTB III, involving dodgy club owners and driveby shootings!

I think Hidden is perfect for DTB, the only thing that let's it down are the drinks prices, but hopefully this can be changed.

Didn't really have much of an after party this time as I've recently been served with a noise abatement notice by the environmental health agency, which means they can confiscate all my sound equipment or fine me £5,000 if I make excessive noise....so I went and watch Millwall play on Saturday instead
