i find the choice to make an englisch part on pf a bit overdone..
i don't think that it will ad something to this forum other than seperation of people..
don't think we want to go that far..
they allmost MUST open a turkish, maroc and surinam PART on PF, because there are 5 million by now..
am i right or wrong??

Oh hell yea ur right.. :/

yeah but those 5 million speak dutch one way or another ;)
think this is a great idea for our "foreign" flockers (Y)

We've always had this rule "only Dutch or English" with no intentions to allow Turkish, Arabic (etc etc) in here, so "no go" on that point.

We *do* however, have a growing number of international members being interested in the Dutch party scene, getting hopelessly lost sometimes.

So I don't see this as a way to keep party people separated, but more like an extra service to our international members (and DJs!!) who don't have a Partyflock like we do!
Maybe they should call it Partyflock International from now on O:)

Exactly.

And it's vastly less than 5 million anyway ;) (more like, a million-and-a-half)

I guess so :S
i still do not understand why it has to be a seperated english part..
the reason "foreign DJ's visit our site" is bullshit offcourse..
the only thing that is going to happen, is that al the dutch bullshit topic, are going to be placed in the english part of PF too :s
No but i'm interested inthose memo's

But a bit overdone to make an english section.....
Hmmm let me think.

I think they should learn dutch if they want to visit Partyflock instead of making partyflock english or international.

We always adapt to other languages.
Let them adapt to us for once!!

Absolutely not!

I think they should learn dutch if they want to visit Partyflock instead of making partyflock english or international.

Why would somebody who is interested in the Dutch party scene or coming over for a holiday be required to learn Dutch? It's not like they're going to live here or something...

hmmmz... in fact, some actually *do* come and live here :D

I think they should learn dutch if they want to visit Partyflock instead of making partyflock english or international.

But doesn't this happen with everything that's succesful or is getting a broader base? Why should Partyflock be exclusively Dutch?

We've been (internally) discussing the pros and cons of an English subsection for over a year now... you can be sure that we've checked all possibilities & options (yes, really)

Why is this bullshit if you erase the 'DJ' and replace it with 'members'?

That tells us more about your views on what Partyflock is or should be then our intentions, the intentions of our foreign visitors and the moderators' abilities .

Sweety, my best friend from Australia is learning DUtch right now, have you any fucking clue how hard this is?

And: be proud of the reason why us Dutch are so fluent in English! The rest of the world is!
can't find any dutch section on english fora :/

Hope he will succeed with it. And yes i know that foreign people have lots of problems to learn dutch.

Had a bulgarian girlfriend who tried it also.

it's an idea from a admin, and all come rushing in over here to defend the desision to make an english section :/

Actually, they're not. Don't forget that Partyflock is the LARGEST party site WORLDWIDE.

There are some sites where this is possible...and then again: why the hell should we stick to what other sites do or don't? We're unique and we offer unique possibilities.

You're forgetting here that ENglish is an international language that is spoken by more people then just those living in countries that have English as their first language.

If I want to go to a party in Austria and i find a website about that party I should be able to either speak Germen (which I can but let's pretend I can't) or speak English or not visit the forum and go to that party and get by with my hands and feet....

But it makes it so much cooler to have that opportunity to speak with likeminded people

what an answer :s

it's an idea from a admin

...which we've discussed internally for over a year...

what an answer

I thought it was very "short and to the point" :P

So the real question is "Should members decide if Partyflock can or can not be allowed to offer international services?" (and if I put it that way, there's really only one answer, isn't there? ;) )

I have more then enough trust in that certain admin that he can handle you kids

ANd it's not his idea...we've been talking about this for a year and now we have a consensus that we should offer this possibility: soit!
I get your point Qarian, and i didn't said it is/was a bad idea to make an english section.

The main thing that bothers me is that other people should adapt to us for once. But with our language it's a mission impossible for them.

So we should be glad that we all learn 2 languages at junior high school (don't remember the right word for "basisschool" at the moment).

We're not adapting, we're branching out ;)

And it was easier than starting up a partyflock.co.uk and a partyflock.us anyway

But if we are on vacation we always try to speak the national language as soon as we can. Instead of using the international language "english"

Now, imgaine you're interested in buying a painting from a Russian painter. How would you feel if the store owner would insist that you'll learn Russian before you will be allowed to buy the painting?

We've never allowed Turkish or Arabic in here, only Dutch and English. Has been like that for ages, nobody complained about it. Besides (like has been stated before) those Turkish and Moroccan people it would been intended for speak Dutch already, so why should they have a seperate language section?

Please compare this site with other sites and be fucking glad that you get the chance to host your opinion like this....even if it's in the worst English I've read for a while :x

If your opinion was actually based on better arguments then mine you'd be right but you have not mentioned any valid arguments so far
