Biografie
Nick van Velthoven, an Antwerp based guy, born as a son of a bank manager and female world boxing champion in the beautiful year of 1993, found his electronic music passion in 2001 on the age of 8 when he got his first cd, called 'Discovery' by a group called Daft Punk, as a birthday present. Always inspired by beatmatching he secretly stole mommy's and daddy's walkmans and upgraded it to ordinary cd players, trying to synchronize two tracks by pressing play at the same moment. While growing up, Nick started to relay his boundaries and started listening more diverted music. Starting from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, straight up to Coone to go way back to U2 and Afroman. It's not 'because he got high' that Nick lost his focus on house music but due to his main interest in music he just lost touch with it. Started mixing jump- and hardstyle, influenced by some of his friends, at the age of 16 with some guys at the basement, well that shit escalated quickly.
Summer 2010, only a year after he entered the jump- and hardstyle-scene, Nick got to know Sebastiaan, which was an ordinary friend through Nick's eyes. Well, it took him a lot of drunk parties to realize that Seba was a basement-deejay too. As tired as he was of listening to this jump- and hardstyle, as good was Sebastiaan to remember him of his first Daft Punk-cd, remembering Nick that he was actually a house-lover, not a jump or hardstyle deejay. Started trying some things out at the basement, once again, we thought it might be cool to make a deejay-duo, inspired by the Bingo Players or Swedish House Mafia. That's when 'Paranormal Tracktivities' was born.
By buying his first Pioneer CDJ1000 set he wasn't able to not see or touch it for 2 days, constantly playing Alesso's remix of 'Pressure', which is still one of my favourite songs, Swedish House Mafia's 'One' or Hardwell and Tiësto's 'Zero 76' as loud as possible at the basement and dreaming of huge stages and clubs with lots of people going total loss. After only two months of partnership, Nick and Sebastiaan, Paranormal Tracktivities, decided to subscribe us for a big dj contest in Noxx Antwerp, which we won, three times. And the rest is history.
Nowadays 'PT' and 'Nick Dillinger' are known by their successes in NOXX Antwerp, Nick's international experiences from Curaçao and Ibiza as well as their festival experiences, such as Daydream and Sunset. After only 5 years of deejaying, i can proudly say that I am a resident at NOXX Antwerp, Skyclub, The Villa, L'Étage Ghent, Barvista Leuven and at all the Pleasure events such as Project X. Nick and Seba are also known as the proud founders of the podcastlabel and event organization MAD:AM (Mad after Midnight) based in Antwerp.
