Biografie
·It was september 7th, 1988 when young Dutchman Gijs Janssen saw his first light of day. Born in Venray and raised in a small town called Sevenum, Gijs developed an interest for music at a very young age. Listening to the 'Top 40 on the radio and recording his favorite songs on a cassette were the start of his "musical career". From the moment he earned some money Gijs started buying CD's from DJ/producers like Tiësto and Armin van Buuren.
Since he really liked dance music and wanted to do more with it than just listen to it he decided to subcribe for a one-day DJ course. This was the first time Gijs took place behind the decks and he tried to beatmatch two tracks on vinyl. His first expierence wasn't a great succes but he really would like to learn more about beatmatching and DJ'ing so he started to save money to buy his own DJ gear. After some time Gijs bought two Pioneer CDJ-800s cd-players and a Pioneer DJM-400 mixer. With this equipment he really could start working on his skills.
In 2010 Gijs decided to start his DJ career by launching this website and starting with recording a monthly promo mix so people can get to know Gizo's musical taste. Gizo played his first official DJ-set at the Hertentamenparty (june 2010) and from then on he performed at several local party's. In the summer of 2011 Gizo contacted Café Metieske in Sevenum to see if they were interested to start a new party concept. Together with Café Metieske he developped a party concept called 'Levels'. Gizo is the host of these party's (which take place 4 times a year) and everytime he invites two or three guest DJ's to play the best house and electro music.
The year 2012 brought two new highlights to Gizo's DJ career. After sending in a live mix he was selected to play at Prilpop Festival 2012 in Sevenum. Prilpop is a well know free festival for young and upcoming bands and DJ's so it was an honor to play a DJ-set there. Furthermore Gizo was asked by Rabobank to perform two nights at their Rabo Live festival at the World Show Stage of the Floriade in Venlo. As a warm-up DJ for Go Back To The Zoo and VanVelzen (two famous Dutch acts) Gizo played a DJ-set for 2000 visitors each night. An amazing experience!
