The Tempest

Bart van Halder, aka The Tempest loved hardstyle from the very first track ever made. After a few years, in 2005 he started as a DJ. He was inspired by his best friend who had been a DJ for a while. He bought his first DJ gear, amd started practicing in every free minute he had. He went by the name DJ Bartstyle back then. After a while it was time to get a bit more professional. This meant better DJ gear, and a more mature name. The Tempest was the name of a track of a drum and bass formation called Pendulum. He is a big fan of this formation! The Tempest is described in the dictionary as "heavy storm". This suited his style of music very well, and from that moment he was called The Tempest. He then played at a couple of local parties, but he wanted to show himself to a bigger audience. So he started participating in DJ contests. And with good results! He had the honor of calling himself the winner of some contests! In 2011 he came across his biggest adventure yet. The Best DJ of the Netherlands competiton. And also with very good results! He placed himself in the finals as the only hardstyle DJ! Unfortunateley he did not win the finals, but he was very satisfied with the results. The contest brought him a lot of very good things en developments, including gigs at festivals!
