Alex Celler

Alexandros Berdos mostly know as Alex Celler was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. Now Thessaloniki might not be the first place that comes to mind when speaking about electronic music, but during the late 90's and 00's names like Juan Atkins, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, and Ricardo Villalobos visited the city regularly inspiring a whole new generation with the sounds of house & techno. Soon enough, Alex decided to move to London in 2004 where he quickly got involved in the scene collecting records, djing regularly and producing music.

Few years later in 2009, his strong releases in Tuning Spork, All Inn and Freak n Chic and Cecille (along with good friend Anthea) helped him establish himself as one of the promising upcoming names of his generation. This strong line of productions & remixes got him spinning regularly in London's very own Fabric as well as Ibiza's Underground, Amnesia and DC10, Trouw (Amsterdam), Arma 17 (Moscow) and Watergate (Berlin) to name just a few. With a busy tour schedule ahead, the future looks promising.

Alex's distinctive DJ style hints towards an obsessive attitude to crate digging – playing out an impressive blend of rare, old and modern tracks. His sound comes deep yet energetic, with strong basslines and loose rhythms keeping the emphasis on the groove.

As of 2012, Alex is preparing new collaborations with All Inn Records from Romania, as well as Seuil's imprint Eklo Recordings. His new range of records include a sophisticated approach to sound design based on modular synthesizers and drum machines along with an urge to explore, create and deliver subtle yet challenging electronic music.
