Freek Strano

Strano, taking the Italian word for strange as a Dutchman, does require some explanation. Sensual and hypnotic, psychedelic broken beats, yet firmly grounded with a solid structure, might do the trick. His music is both physical and emotive. Strano has shared the stage with influential artists like Guy J, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Paul Kalkbrenner while venues include Club MIKZ (Berlin), Doornroosje (Nijmegen), Studio 80 (Amsterdam) plus a residency at Paradigm (Groningen) and Pand 48 (Groningen as well). His tracks and sets aim for the organic. They flow naturally, like a soul searching for a rythm. See it as an adventurous departure from more break and drop oriented electronic music, somewhere in the middle between the likes of Daniel Avery and Jon Hopkins.
