Biografie
Dutch producer Jeng Do played the flute at the age of five and played classical piano from the age of six, growing up strongly influenced by his father's passion for jazz music. At the age of fourteen (1993) he got introduced to music software and a music producer was born. Around the same time he visited his first house parties in the area and from the age of seventeen he came across the sounds of the well known house and techno pioneers. Almost weekly visiting Chemistry (Escape) in its earliest years, the legendary club Mazzo, Awakenings from day one (Gashouder) and many more forward thinking events and clubs throughout the part of Holland they call Randstad and from the late nineties also in Germany and Belgium. Influenced and captured by new interesting sounds constantly, his own sound gradually developed to electro and techno of the deep kind.
In Amsterdam he organized several parties in a venue he had set up in 2003, literally underground, making his first steps in contributing to the scene driven by his own vision. After a move to Rotterdam, besides cooperating in several electronic music orientated projects, he started spreading his own music and developed his live set. He debuted with his live set at Bootleg in Rotterdam in 2005 which resulted in more live gigs, with his sets ranging from chill sets to pounding techno sets depending on venue and playtime. From 2007 he came forward as Jeng Do with a fresh particular deep sound resulting in live sets on Sound Architecture (Off Corso, Catwalk, Whoosah), Amsterdam Dance Event (Supperclub), Solar Festival (Roermond), Planet Rose (Doornroosje), Awakenings (Maassilo) and many more techno orientated events.
Earlier in 2005 for the first time tracks of his appeared, on a highly rated vinyl compilation called Electronic Generation. Several digital releases followed and in 2009 his first solo vinyl release was there, Nine Five EP on Sound Architecture Records. Also in 2009 he set up his own label and event organization Tuneskin with which so far he has organized showcases, release parties, label specials (Skindip) and the Catwalk DJ Contest at Catwalk Club Rotterdam, Guerilla at Westelijk Handelsterrein and Locale at Bootleg in Rotterdam.
December 2009 the first Tuneskin release was there, Woken. Having done up to sixteen releases on Tuneskin Recordings to this day, he over time attracted some of Rotterdam's finest DJ-s and producers to his label and events. Besides running Tuneskin, he was the manager of the legendary Catwalk Club Rotterdam from early 2010, making a worthwhile contribution to the Rotterdam scene by successfully taking the club to a higher level with the Catwalk crew and the highly rated resident team in the latter stages of the club's existence.
Today his focus is mainly on Tuneskin Recordings, clearly taking his label to a higher level now along with his own music. On the performing side he is out there as a DJ playing his distinctive deep techno driven emotional sound, just as easy intelligently warming up a crowd as making a crowd go wild later at night. On the infamous underground Sacre Bleu parties in Rotterdam, of which he is first hour resident, he displays his mixing skills and distinctive feel for the deeper sounds on a regular base. Occasionally having dropped one of his special live sets on Sacre Bleu and other underground (illegal) parties in recent years, he in 2013 came forward with more fresh live sets like in Rotterdam's number one techno venue Perron and on one of the most forward thinking and successful events in Rotterdam: Undertone. Jeng Do is undoubtedly on a lifelong musical path, originating from the soul. So, stay tuned.
