Jonas Erik Altberg, famously known as Basshunter, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer born on December 22, 1984, in Halmstad, Sweden. He grew up with a passion for music and quickly became enamored with computer-based production, experimenting with various electronic sounds and beats. This early fascination led him to upload his tracks online, where he began to attract a devoted following.

Basshunter's breakthrough arrived in 2006 with the release of "Boten Anna," a catchy Eurodance track written in Swedish. Originally a humorous song about a misunderstood online bot, it unexpectedly soared to the top of the charts across Europe, gaining massive radio airplay and establishing him as a rising star in the dance music scene. Soon after, Basshunter followed it up with "Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA," often shortened to "DotA," further solidifying his popularity among both dance music enthusiasts and gamers.

In 2008, Basshunter broadened his audience with the English-language version of "Boten Anna," titled "Now You're Gone."
