Biografie
·A modular synthesizer has a tendency to go its own way, and the happy accidents that follow turned out to
be exactly what Estroe was looking for.
Estroe is an electronic music artist exploring the boundaries of sound design and atmosphere. Her focus
lies on crafting immersive soundscapes and subtle, evolving beats, created with modular synthesizers,
moving between experimental abstraction and melodious texture. In her modular approach, she embraces
nuance, space, and imperfection, welcoming the unexpected as part of the creative process.
After years of stepping back from performing, it was the world of modular synthesis that gave her an
unexpected new impulse, reigniting a passion for making music that she had always hoped for but never
quite expected. She embraced the modular as a playground and testing ground, a deliberate choice to
step outside the box she had been working in for years. As someone who naturally gravitates toward
structure, she set out to do the opposite.
She performs both solo and as part of a duo with Raaf Modular, a collaboration that brings out new sides
of her musicality. Rosedale Records, which she relaunched, serves as the platform for both her solo work,
Estroe & Raaf, and the music of Raaf Modular, with a fresh vision for modular-driven productions.
Beyond her artistry, Estroe is dedicated to coaching and education, mentoring at Music Conservatory
Haarlem (Electronic Music section) and integrating Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) into her
work with students and artists navigating the pressures of the music industry.
Estroe's path runs through nearly three decades in electronic music. Starting out as a DJ in Amsterdam in
the late 90s, she built a reputation through national and international bookings, with support from artists
including John Digweed and Dave Clarke. She also enjoyed remixing the work of others and released two
albums and a string of EPs. For twenty years she combined her musical career with work as a nurse,
gradually shifting her focus to music entirely. A profession driven by the same desire that defines her as an
artist and coach: to connect with people and mean something to them.
With a career spanning decades, Estroe continues to evolve, always seeking new ways to express sound,
emotion, and atmosphere
